Greys - Spoliers - Dont open if you didnt watch yet
I had the strongest feeling it was going to end like that. When I saw them all on the plane I thought wow if they crashed theyd lose half the hospital staff. pretty cool way they filmed the last few minutes.
who do we think dies? As of yesterday only 50% of the staff signed new contracts so I am not sure if I should go back and look and see who signed on to narrow down the possibilities LOL

Were they on the plane? I have to go back and see who was on the plane. I did read that some actors already signed contracts and are def coming back. I thought that Arizona would die too, I had that feeling.

I want Sloane and Little Grey together.
I heard Grey, and Derrek are back and so is Shonda Rhimes...2 yr contracts.
I believe the one who dies is a girl...from convo they had.
Im already sad!

I was reading an article that said Derek, Meredith, Karev, Christina, Bailey and the Chief all renewed their contracts...
The preview didn't look good for Arizona...and would make an interesting story line since Karev was supposed to go, but she stopped him. So if she doesn't make it, how will he / Callie feel...

The ending shocked me, I don't know why but I didn't see that coming!!!
I want Lexi and Sloane to get back together too. I hope that they keep Kepner, I was sad for her that hunt fired her.

with all of them and their new positions i guess they had to do something to keep the show going
if the only people that renewed are Derek, Meredith, Karev, Christina, Bailey and the Chief the show is going to stink

I am so worried that it will Arizona. I love her. But....she was a big part of the last few episodes. And that convo with Callie--promise me you'll never leave me. And fears of death and dying. I don't know...foreshadowing. Plus, in real life, she is about to have her third baby. She may want more time with her family, and Shonda would never break up Callie and Arizona, so....I don't think it's looking good for her.
I don't think it's Lexie. She was barely in this episode. I wouldn't think she would kill a major character without having them be a big part of the prior episode(s).
Kind of similar for Sloane, and I don't know that he would be described as a "beloved" character, which is who supposedly dies.
Could still be Derek, but I hope not. Maybe his contract is for limited appearances. I don't want it to be him. Mer and Der have been through enough. And he already was shot and almost died in a season finale, so writing-wise, it wouldn't be the best idea.

the others didnt renew "yet" ...
The show has not even been renewed by the network yet so that doesnt mean much.
I think it is Lexi that dies. She had SUCH a small role this season IMO...all she did was stand on the sidelines and support the other actors.
Arizona had a large part and IDK if they would do that to Callie after George dying, and then the baby being born early last season's finale...Too much Callie storyline.
OR Sloane dies.
Thats my prediction.

This is a distinct possiblity....Patrick Dempsey came out and said, in announcing his contract signing, that he wanted more time to pursue his race car passion and film making...
"The question is will I do a full season, a half season or come back at all? There are a lot of things I'd like to do: racing, films... so if I'm able to balance all those things and continue on with the show, why not?"
So maybe it IS for limited appearances...like when his ghost visits Meredith...

After this I do think it's Derek- then Mer can go back to dark and gloomy Mer with Christina. I really hope it's not him. Little Grey- if it were her it wouldn't be too bad her role was limited this season
Arizona- the only way this would work is so that Karev would stay as the ped and not go to Hopkins

I don't know but I think Arizona. Shonda also said if we paid attention in the episode 8.1 we would understand the finale as it is a parallel. That was the sink hole episode I believe with a husband and wife in it. I think it's Arizona because of what she said to Callie about never leaving her last night and she is pg in real life again. I can see her wanting to be home with her kids as she has hinted to this in recent interviews. It could be Derek and he comes back in flashbacks, but I don't know. Whatever it is will be big enough to keep the docs around for season 9 so it'll be someone important. I also read that Avery did an intervoew and said all the original characters are safe, but you never know seeing as Shonda has changed the finale 3 times lol.

I think it's Derek that dies. I read a while back that Patrick Dempsey was leaving after this season. Not sure if that still holds true or not, but the plane crash would be a good opportunity to kill him off.

I don't think, at least I hope not, that Shonda would do another whole ghost storyline with Derek. It didn't go over well with fans when they did it with Izzie and Denny.
Someone said it can't be Lexie because she hasn't played a big enough role recently. Look at what they did with George...he didn't play a huge role during his last few shows either.

alright I just watched it. I am thinking that both Derek & Arizona die. I agree that he will prob be back in dream / ghost scenes.
Grey will stay in Seattle to be close to Derek's memory
Christina will stay b/c she won't leave Grey in her time of need.
Karev will stay b/c he feels guilty now that Arizona is gone. He will take her job.
April will be coming back to take over Karev's job.
I hope they don't kill Slone or little Grey. It would be too much if Callie lost both Slone and Arizona.

That makes sense....I could see Meredith staying because without Derek she has nothing except Christina and Lexie - who are both in Seattle...the only reason she was moving was to be with Derek and give him his Alzheimer's clinic.
I also see Christina staying both to support Meredith and the near death experience bringing her and Hunt back together...
I can see killing Arizona, the irony of almost losing Callie, her surviving just to have Arizona killed...And Karev will stay because he'd take over her job...And like someone said earlier, all the "never leave me" and dealing with death talk seemed like a lot of foreshadowing. I also read something that Shonda Rimes said in her interview that Mark and LExie fans would get satisfaction in the end, but it would be dark and bittersweet...so I do think they survive, but it's at the cost of ______ Derek? Arizona? Both?

I just want to say...Karev would stay to fix things, but he couldn't take over Arizona's job. She is a Pediatric Surgeon ATTENDING. He still needs to go through his fellowship to become what she was/is. They would need to bring in another attending such as Stark to teach him through his fellowship. I believe the only one of them that will/would be attendings would be Mer since General Surgery doesn't require a fellowship. The rest of them still have more to do. Christina needs her cardio fellowship and so on. I don't know what will happen next since Patrick did sign on for next season but we'll see. I also hop ethey don't do another ghost thing. I just can't take anymore of that and with Henry dying I hope it's April or even Avery. I can't take another love/spouse death.

Fanforum.com spoiler site is predicting it is Lexie. That the bittersweet ending is Sloane tells her he loves her back and then she dies. I am leaning towards this theory as well. Didn't they have Derek almost die already? Why do it again. Arizona is plausible but she has too much of a storyline I think.
