greedy greedy greedy greedy
these people just piss me off. we get an end of year bonus and every year people complain, oh its not enough. i can't even buy a slice of pizza with this. just shut up and take it. its free money, whats wrong with that??
and to top it all off, i work for a large company and we are in our 50th year so we get an extra bonys - based on years of service. 1 year - $100, 2-5 years $300, etc, and people are STILL complaining about it. seriously?? its just too much sometimes

Wow, to get an extra $100 if you are only there a year, sounds like a good deal to me! Some people are never happy.....

My company doesnt give bonuses. They give out years of service rewards.
I work my AZZ off for the senior managing partner and I have for the last 5 years. I got $423.
Im sorry but the amount of work I do and what I do for him, I deserve more.
So while a bonus is great - when you call it a 'reward" for your work and all you get is $423 after 5 years of busting yuor azz, no I dont think its nearly enough.

We get that here too...a lot people are never happy. I would go around saying it's better then nothing or offer to take the $$ off their hands if they don't want it.

I have never worked anyplace where I got more than about $50 for Christmas, so I would be happy with anything more than that.
I don't really get the whole bonus thing. If it is expected, at the end of the year, then why don't companies just give you a raise? And I would think if you don't think you make enough for the work you do, why not look for a new job.
I am not picking on anyone - I don't understand the whole thing, since I haven't really worked in corporate culture.

They are too cheap to give bounses...and decent raises...and lots of other things. If you are "staff" at my firm, you are screwed.

i look at the bonus as more of a thank you. and a little incentive for next year. is it expected? yes and no - i mean, when i forst started i didn't know we got one and i was very happy with what i got the last 3 years.
and i dont' take offense to your question, this is the only job i've had where i got one so i just take what i get

We don't get bonuses and we don't automatically get raises each year either.  I'd be happy getting either one.

when you work for a firm that makes over $15 billion a year and the big bosses take home more than $10 million a year, yes I think $100 bonus for the people that work like little rats in a maze all year long is cheap!
