I've never been to Great Wolf but DW is awesome for those ages.
The water park is great there for them too.

And if you can stay at Eden, they have a great pool/kids spray area as well

Re: Great Wolf Lodge - PA

there's a new place that opened just near there that has gotten good reviews. Crap I forget the name though...

Great wolfe has been known to have bedbugs and a mom in my group (I think she used to be on here) had a whole debacle with them.

All hotels have bed bugs at some point. Even Disney. That whole story was off....I remember reading it on here. Camelback Lodge is near there...not that great for the younger set. Kalahari just opened nearby also...looks fun.

We went to Sahara Sams Indoor water park this past winter and the kids loved it. Stayed at a nearby hotel.

Can you tell me what activities they have aside from their waterpark? I find their site to be not too informative. Mini Golf? Ropes Course?

Also, FYI OP, there is a Groupon and Living Social deal for Kalahari if you decide to go that route.

Honestly my girls didn't want to leave the waterpark so I don't know what other activities they had. They have a big arcade center. They are still in phase 1 and phase 2 might be complete by next year. Still a lot of construction. The decor is very nice.

ETS; We were only there for 2 days. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Staff was very nice. They had to restaurants. One buffet style and the other sit down. They have a bakery on site as well. We didn't need to leave the resort at all.

I went to GW a few years ago...the water park area is great...but I thought the rooms were ghetto. The room we were in smelled musty...and they are outdated...but everyone has different experiences I guess...I just prefer a nicer room for the money...

This is why I won't go. The rooms look gross to me from pics on their website and trip advisor.
They look straight out of a 1970s cheap motel.
I am too much of a hotel snob to feel comfortable there.
And for the price, I could be staying in a MUCH nicer place.
No thanks

What time did the waterpark open on both days you were there? That information isn't on their website, and their Groupon says noon, which is REALLY late. I messaged them, and they said it varies, but usually 9am - 10pm, so curious now before I book.

I thought the same thing...indoor water park, carpeted hotel attached...ikkkk

but it wasn't like that at all, it was actually really nice and while we didn't stay in one of the 'cool' rooms that they have, it was not cheap motel feeling at all

We've gone a couple of times. My kids love it. I would prefer to go in the winter rather than the summer, since it is pretty much all indoors. I found it to be quite clean. Rooms are not musty. Not fancy but they have a cute theme. We had a cabin room with bunk beds. One night is enough for me. Go during the week if possible-not a holiday. Arrive early afternoon on the first day, then leave late afternoon on the second day. I don't consider it to be a "vacation", just somewhere fun to go with dc. Dh has never gone with us-indoor waterparks are not his thing.

Same here. We stayed in the Grizzly Bear suite and it was really nice. I am very picky, btw, and I had no complaints. Not musty at all.

Oh yes, we stayed in that one too with my extended family. So spacious and clean!
