Grandparent Question

In my family, we always let the kids come up with a name for the grandparents, but in DH's family they always called everyone "Grandma Firstname" and "Grandpa Firstname"

My son is going to have four grandmothers and one grandfather, should we just go with the flow or should we stick to "Grandma Mary", "Grandma Judy", "Grandma Conny", "Grandma Kate" and "Grandpa Floyd"? That is A LOT!!

What do kids call grandparents in your family and what do you plan on doing?

i a so glad you posted this, we are having the same issues, b/c my mom wants to be called Mima but thats what we call my stepmoms mother, so wont that confuse the baby?
Everyone already calls my DH mom nanni and his father papa, but they have 3 grandkids already and it would be wierd for our child not to follow suit. but how can i not let my mom have her way, if i am doing it for DH mom.
I was always told you talk about the grandparents as grandma and grandpa so and so and the baby comes us with their own name, but growing up we always called ours grandma/grandpa followed by the first name.
It is so confusing!!

Well, since my older sister had 2 boys first, they got to name my parents 1st. They call them "Grammy and Pop".

DH parents will be called "Grandma and Grandpa".

Our child will call them Nonna and Nonno.

I think my IL's will be nana and pops and my parents will be grandma and grandpa

My parents are already grandma & grandpa to my 2 nieces so that'll stick & then DH's parents want to be called Nanny Poppy
