Graco Snugride weight and height limits plus 1 year?
So the graco snugride I have has limits of 29 inches and 22lbs. What happens if my son reaches those limits by his 6mth check up? I thought it was these limits PLUS he had to be one year or is this incorrect?
He was 18lbs at his 4mth check up and has been gaining between 3 and 4bls every 2 months so I can only imagine he will be nearly this weight at his 6mth check up. He is pretty long too so probably willl reach the length limit.
What do you think? I dont want him in this seat if its unsafe.

all 3 of my babies were out of infant carseats by 4 months old. Convertible carseats can be rear facing too.

If he grows out of the infant seat, you can put him in the convertible car seat backwards. The 20 lb and one year (which the AAP has now suggests 2 years) applies to any car seat being rear facing. Your infant carrier has it's own weight limits, which is not for rear facing vs. forward facing but the capacity of the seat itself.
Also, babies weight increases can slow down after the first couple of months so he may last a little longer than you expect.

He can be in a convertible seat rear facing now.
Most have a minimum weight of 5lbs

Yep. Both of my kids were out of the Graco Snugride by 6 months

Yup, DS was 29" by 5 months. It seems like most babies don't make it to the year.

WOw....thanks.. my DD was 20 lbs at her ONE YEAR appointment unlike this little chunker so it only dawned on me. Now I have to go and buy a convertible seat.
