Graco Pack N Play w/Newborn Napper

I've read that the Newborn Napper thing on the Graco Pack N Play really isn't safe for infants (sort of why bumpers aren't safe... too much padding/extra material)

I purposely didnt register for the one with the Newborn Napper bc it makes me nervous. Anyone else read this? Am I being crazy?

Re: Graco Pack N Play w/Newborn Napper

The pack n play I registered for has the cuddle cove which looks the same to me as the napper. I am not too concerned as I dont plan on having the baby sleep in it over night, rather just as something to lay in while I am in the room with him where he will be constantly in my line of sight.

Re: Graco Pack N Play w/Newborn Napper

I opted for the P&P with no newborn napper because I read in Baby Bargains that it was a waste of extra money because the baby will rarely use it and outgrows it too quickly, etc.

I haven't heard of the reason you posted, but I just don't think it's worth it either way.

Re: Graco Pack N Play w/Newborn Napper

The Pack N Play we have doesn't have the napper, but it does have the changing table attachment - that is definitely worth getting!

We live in a small apartment, but the boys have their own room with a changing table. We have the Pack N Play in the living room and use that so often because its easier to change the baby where you are. Its also made from a vinyl material on the bottom which comes in handy for the especially poooooopy diapers since it wipes clean easily! Chat Icon

I intend to keep this in our den so everything you are saying make sense. I def want the changing table attachment so we won;t have to run upstairs to change Chat Icon

Thanks!

Can someone post the link for the P&P with the changing station but without the napper? The ones I looked at had those things one in the same where you flip it over.
THANKS!!

I didn't register for the newborn napper for the reasons you specified. Mine just has the changing station.

Where did you read this? I registered for one with the napper. Can't find another I like without it. The napper looks like it has just as much padding as a bouncy seat.

DD slept in that napper/cuddle cove from birth-3 months when she got too long for it. She was always swaddled and snug as a bug! I plan in doing the same with this baby.

Just looked in my Baby Bargains book.... it said the newborn napper can be a safety hazard on p. 343 towards the bottom

This is the only thin DS will sleep in. We tried him in the bassinet and he hates it. The napper cradles him and we have had no issues with it.

i'm glad to hear this! did you swaddle DS? i'm guessing every baby is different but it'd be great if the cuddle cove works for us because it can then stay in our room. the crib is too big...

He is swaddled but loosely cause he likes his hands free
