It depends...I used to date a guy who worked for two exxon stations. They received their gas from bulk carriers (mystic usually), which dropped gas at a "no-name" station prior to theirs. So basically its all the same.
You can still get bad gas, but I think it has more to do with the stations holding tanks.
ita. the goverment put a new regulations on no name gas stations, so they are just as good as mobile, exon etc. I think it all depends on how old there holding tanks are and when you get the gas, if its right after a delivery or the bottom of the tank gas. When its the bottom of the tank gas then your getting dirt and what not in your tank.

We use Exxon/Mobil since we get more $$ back in our Upromise account.
