Going to the doctor Monday. Have a question

Regular gyno. If I am not PG this month then Jan will be our 6th month! To me that seems long.

So I am just going to have a consultation. But here's my question. When should I go see an RE? Is this something my regular gyno will recommend?

TIA

Depends on how old you are. Are you 35 or older? Do you have irregular periods. If you dont have any indicators pointing toward IF then you typically wait a year then off to the RE. The exceptions are when you are 35 or older or if you are aware of specific problems.

If everything is regular with you - (O'ing every month) then they might suggest your DH do a SA. We did that at 6 months.

I feel you should follow your instincts. The 1 year rule is a rule put out there by insurance companies who do not wnat to pay out infertility benefits. I also had a specilaist tell me if you are reasonably young, ovulate every month and are using OPK's to confirm O time and BD'ing you should be pregnant in 6 months. Your regular Dr can give you CD 3 testing(fsh, LH and estrogen) and 7dpo testing of progesterone to confirm ovulation.

Do you temp? Temping is what first clued me in that I had an issue with progesterone(low temps after O)
Have you readf Taking Charge of Your Fertility-teaches you a lot
Do you use OPK's?
