Going To North Carolina on Saturday!
We are going to look in Concord in a development called Moss Creek, does anyone know anything about this development? They are building new house so I think we may do that so we can get what we want in the house, only problem is selling the one we have here.........Wish me Luck and if anyone has any input please help!!!
Also we are looking at Winding Walk development. Hope they are nice, we want to move so bad!!!

OMG!! I looked at that development 3 weeks ago and fell in love with it!
We loved the model that Ryan homes had!
We would be moving too if we wouldn't take a huge loss on the house we bought last year!

They are moving the both schools right in the neighborhood so my son wouldn't have to go far and all his friends would be right there. I think they were building a supermarket right in there too! The schools I heard are better there then in the Charlotte/ Mecklenburg County
There were I think five homebuilders and so many pretty models to choose from.
The lots were a little bigger than some of the other communities and I think you were allowed to have a fence and an inground pool if you wanted.
Shopping wasn't too far away with the Concord Mall being close .
That was our favorite community and that area . WE also liked the Lake Wylie,SC area (south of Charlotte) too (taxes are cheaper and close to Charlotte for jobs)
If we didn't overpay by a ton for our tiny house in LI..we would be moving very soon if we found jobs in NC!

Thank you so much...........we like a house by Shea builders. Did you look at them, also McCar has some nice models. It is just so overwhelming.

I loved both of them. It is just that the Ryan homes one had the biggest model! 
That is what we went by. They are all beautiful though! I know all the virtual tours by heart!

I know how you feel. We want to start building but are afraid out house won't sell by the time the new one is done so we have no clue what to do. They said it can take 6-8 months to build but I don't want to get stuck with 2 mortgages if this house don't sell by then...........very frustrating!!!

DH works in Corcord/Kannapolis. We checked out areas there, a little too rural for us but nice.
We are in Southpark now(near the city) we are moving to Huntersville though. I really liked it up there.

She did say the schools are better in the Concord area. She is taking us to a few other developments too.We have looked in Highland Creek before and that are seemed nice so as uou can see,its a hard decision.

Highland creek is a nice area, except we found that there are HUGE power lines that go over the community. DH scratched it off our list immediately.

Concord is growing. Definitely a nice area, I just am in search of a more localized community. I like the idea of sidewalks and walking to stores. We aren't buying yet, just renting in Huntersville We almost bought in Univerisity Area, in a subdivision that we haven't found a decent comparison to price wise. We are into older subdivisions with trees and different style homes. Which is a double edge sword since older homes will need more work.
I love where I live now, but DH's commute is too long. In Huntersville, its a 20 min commute. But I am in Meck County now, we have a terrific school system here in SouthPark. Selwyn Elem. reading is a 95% and math is high as well. I don't know if Concord schools are "better" I just think that Meck county has more schools, you have to weed through good and bad. Charter schools are big here too. I heard Huntersville Elem is really good too.

its sooooo hard! we lucked out with this apt. we are in now. We leased it over the phone in NY. Thank God it worked out great.
We liked the centralized area of the houses that we had bid on. Just wasn't our time though. My father had an intervention with us as well. He thinks it is great that its a buyers market, but we are not good buyers right now. He talked us into giving it a year, making sure we love it, before buying in this market..if DH has a chance of more money in a different area, or this isn't for us, then we are going to try and sell in a buyers market. so with a baby on the way, we decided to give huntersville a try. I am honestly complaint free. 4 months here and no issues. Its exciting because I feel like we are actually "living" here. NY was great, but it was expensive to actually do things. MSG was always jacked up in prices. Knicks tickets were unbelieveable. Plays come here...when we are in NY we can go see plays. Last week we went to a great little Festival in the Park..folk music and stuff. So much to do here.

DH is in restaurant management, had no problem at all, pay is the same as NY. I was an admin assist. Just for kicks I put my resume out there and got a ton of calls my first week here. What do you guys do? My cousin just moved to High Point a few weeks ago. He did not know anyone and within the first week he was already on someone's clock. He is an electrian. His girlfriend works in daycares, she just had to get paperwork done and she started quickly as well.

That's good to hear. I am in sales and DH delivers for Entenmenn's. Hopefully we won't have a problem finding something. I would love to work for the telephone company or something like that!
