Going from shower to tub

My mom has a mother daughter house and in the original drawings a shower stall was shown and installed.

Now, my mom would like to put a tub in there, however she is saying that she needs to get it approved by the town.

I'm thinking a full bath is a full bath, I don't think they care.

Does anyone have experience with this?

She is in the Town of Islip.

What dept do you think I should call if no one knows the answer?

Re: Going from shower to tub

My understanding is that a full bath consists of 3 things: 1. sink 2. toilet and 3. shower or tub. So, I'm with you on this one.

Re: Going from shower to tub

one of my baths only has a shower and it was counted as a full bath on the appraisal and all the other paperwork, so I would agree with shower or tub!

Re: Going from shower to tub

I have 2.5 bathrooms in my house & the master bathroom consists of a Stall shower. As long as there is some type of bathing area within the bathroom, it is considered a full bathroom

Re: Going from shower to tub

A tub is just a shower stall with very high sides.... Chat Icon Chat Icon

Should be fine, since it is going from a full bathroom to a full bathroom.
