Going away for a wedding and leaving your DC at home
We got invited to a wedding in San Diego in May. DD will be 10 months at the time. DH and I would love to go, but I don't know how I feel about leaving DD for a long weekend. She would stay with my parents and I know they would take great care of her. The wedding is a week before our own anniversary so it would be a nice little trip for us to celebrate. We would be gone 3 days.
What would you do? Just looking for some outside opinions

I would go. I have a wedding to go to in June and DS will only be 6 months and we are going. We will be gone 2 days and my MIL will be watching him.
I figure there are going to be plenty of things that come up over the years where DS will stay with the grandparents so why not get them used to it young

Re: Going away for a wedding and leaving your DC at home
I would go but I see nothing wrong with going away without DS a night or two.
He is 5 months and has done overnights here and there with my MIL since he was 3 months. DS will be 11 months on my 30th bday and DH and I are planning a 5 night Caribbean vaca just the two of us. Ill miss DS but its important to DH and I to be able to do things just us once in a while.

If you have grandparents that you 100% trust (we do too) I always at the people who "COULD NEVER" go away a couple of nights. It's good for you to get away with DH. It's fun and you can booze a little, , watch things that are R rated mid-day! Woohooooo

Go and have fun. Plus, 10 months is the perfect age too. DD wouldn't even know. She'll have so much fun with grandma and grandpa and you and DH will have your own time, which believe me, is not so easy anymore. Take it when you can. If you trust them and it's at your home she'll do great and so will you. Hardest part is the down time. Maybe on the plane or waiting. Bring a book, trashy mags, drink up and enjoy
Oh, and sleep in late!!

Re: Going away for a wedding and leaving your DC at home
We are going to a wedding at the end of April- DD#2 will be almost 5 months and DD#1 will be 2.
It will be the longest (2 nights) I've left DD1 and the first time for DD2.
I'm nervous, but I'm going. They will be with my parents and I know they will be fine.
I would go if I were you

Re: Going away for a wedding and leaving your DC at home
It was heartbreaking but we did this when DD was 6 months, although we made in a really short trip. We left Friday night, wedding was sat, flew home early Sunday morning. It was a nice get away but it was hard on my Mom becuase DD did not sleep well at all (still doesn't, but that another topic ). I'd say go and try to enjoy it as much as you can!
