GMC Acadia or Chevy Traverse moms???? Come in please....
Need a new car, that is super kid and family friendly.....
talk to me about pros and cons...need a new car...like pronto...lease ends 12/31, i am super pregoo and have no patience right now.
Looking to buy...not lease....

I am a Traverse Mom and so far this car has exceeded my expectations. DH was the one all for the Traverse. I wanted a highlander but what convinced me was seeing the Traverse in person and realizing that the third row can actually hold 3 adults (the highlander really can't) and seeing that we could have the third row up and still have some cargo space (the highlander has no space with the third row up). It's great to be able to carry the kids, the stroller and extra people if necessary.

They are built on the same chaisis - so very similar car but the lines are sight are very different
i would honestly test drive or just sit in both and see which you liked better
my dh wanted me to get the gmc - but i hated the sight lines for me - we are looking into the traverse for me

I have the Traverse and LOVE it... of course I don't have any other big cars to compare it too.. I went from a civic to the traverse... But I fit sooo much in it and its so roomy. LOVE the onstar too..

I have a 2008 Acadia that's a total lemon. I can't even type how many problems I've had with it here....I recently met another mom in my Mommy & Me who had the same set of problems with hers. We both can't get rid of ours fast enough. And GMC is a total PITA to deal with for repairs(King O'Rourke in Smithtown s*cks). I am SOOOO happy I decided to lease it before I purchased it. CR just recently rated it below average in reliability. My new truck will be a Honda Pilot or a Mazda CX9.

Both of us dealt with King O Rourke for our repairs. She had such a bad experience she switched to Port Jeff. I deal with them but find myself yelling at them half of the time. In the summer my transmission was on the fritz(my truck was going forward in reverse) yes you read that correctly  The dealership refused to give me a rental while they did the repair until I screamed at them. My power steering rack has been replaced twice, transmission dropped out of the truck 3x for repair, navigation freezes up and stops working constantly, airbag light is on constantly--I got so tired of bringing it back I learned how to turn it off myself by putting my hand under the drivers seat and wiggling wires . I feel like my truck shifts wrong which goes back to a faulty transmission. All of these problems started 6 months into my lease. I can't wait to turn it in. We even put money down on our lease because we thought we'd purchase out of the lease but we don't care we will take the loss and go foreign next. Pick up CR if you are going to purchase. They are usually right on point.
ETA: I forgot my newest problem is the power liftgate. The hydraulics are shot and it comes down at such a force it could really hurt someone

I have the 2010 Traverse and love it. I have 2 carseats in the 2nd row ( I got the bucket seats for easy access to the 3rd row). The 3rd row is big enough for adults and I still can put my double stroller in the back.
I went to Sun Chevy in Bohemia and they were great. Stay away from Orouke and Atlantic, they both tried to pull scams on us.

Not one you listed, but I love, love, love my Buick Enclave. Same Llamba platform as the Acadia and Traverse (and the no longer made Saturn Outlook). Test drive them all! I didn't like the blind spots from the front pillars on the Acadia. I thought the Traverse was nice, just the most plain jane of them all. And I like the CX-9, but DH is a GM employee so I couldn't cross over

A mom I know from the boys' school has an Acadia and has had nothing but problems with it. Things keep breaking down on it (engine related) and she's had a nightmare of a time getting it repaired at the dealer.
We just got an Edge and so far, so good. We also looked at the Pilot, MDX, and CX9.

I have 3 kids and have the traverse and love it. I have my newborn and 2 year old in the second row, and my 4 year old is in a seat in the back. We have the other 2 seats down, and that gives us enough room for strollers or groceries or whatever. So far, I love the car.

We got a better deal on a used Pilot. Not sure of the side by side $$ comparison.
