Glucose test
So I have mine scheduled in 3 weeks. Someone give a brief run-down again of what to expect. (I know you drink the nasty sweet stuff, hang out for an hour and then they draw blood, is that all?). Also, do you think it's wise for someone to drive me? I usually am up by 5 and they have me scheduled for 9:10AM. That's a lot of hours to go by on an empty stomach.

Re: Glucose test
They will draw blood when you get there, make you drink the drink, and then take your blood again an hour later.
Did they tell you you had to fast for the 1 hour? I only had to for the 3hour.

Re: Glucose test
Yup. They said not to eat from midnight on the night before. I'm concerned that even though my appt. is scheduled for 9:10, they might not get me in there until after that!

Re: Glucose test
For me they didn't draw blood when I got there just after I drank.
They gave me 5 minutes to finish the orange flavored drink. I had to sit there for an hour then they drew my blood. It wasn't bad at all and the drink was the size of a can of soda, I thought it was going to be huge.
DH drove me but it wasn't necessary, they only took 2 tubes of blood, took 2 seconds for her to draw it.
