Giving things up while TTC
Anyone give up coffee or drinking less while TTC or in the 2ww period?? I usually drink 2-3 cups a day. I feel that I should be cutting back to at least only a cup. I also feel that when I go to the gym I should workout as hard as I usually do. Anyone else feel the same way? Anyone else giving things up or changing things while TTC or in the 2ww??

I dont think you need to give up anything until you get a BFP.

Re: Giving things up while TTC
I think most people are fine waiting until BFP to give up anything. That being said, my fertility specialist said more than 2 cups coffee/day can reduce chance of getting preggo. And, said one Grande Latte at Starbucks equals 2 cups of coffee. So I'm doing my best to limit to that amt.

I wouldn't change anything till you get a BFP ... the only thing my RE's office told me to do different in the meantime was not take Advil. Otherwise just enjoy life... the truth is, you never know when you will get pregnant and when you do, you'll be avoiding certain things for 9 months- or longer, if you breast feed. No need to be restrictive before you're actually pregnant. Also, I believe you don't share a blood supply until 6wks.

Re: Giving things up while TTC
I originally tried to cut back on artificial sweetners, but that was short lived. It will be really hard once I do get a bfp. I didn't cut back on coffee either. I drink 2 cups per day, but will cut back to 1 cup per day once I'm pregnant. I need something.

Re: Giving things up while TTC
diet soda and coffee is a big thing... then my OB lived on diet soda through out her first pregnancy and coffee for her second.. she said if i can switch to decaff on both ends it should be fine.. but we'll see.. i want to cut out diet soda atleast..
then next is running... when i run, my cycles mess up a bit.. so i stopped running as well.. which has been soo hard, but gotta do it...

Re: Giving things up while TTC
I haven't given up anything specifically bc of ttc, but I have been trying to make better choices just in general (and bc I am trying to lose a bit of weight before my bfp).....
With DD, I had a cup of coffee a day for the first like 2 months.....after that, the heartburn set in, and the coffee just triggered that....My ob always stood by the "everything in moderation" theory though.

Re: Giving things up while TTC
I just realized I have. DH and I have cut back on red meat and I refuse to change the litter box, wash the pets or touch their flea meds. Trying to stay away from toxins.
