Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
At what age did you start putting your DC to sleep with a blanket? My DS is 16 months and I have yet to give him one. It's been getting so cold though and I think it might be time.

Re: Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
I gave DS his Lovie blanket around 8 months but thats for comfort and not warmth.
I still use Halo sleep sacks at 16 months because the blanket never stays on him to keep him warm.

Re: Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
Young...like one month (it was a thin blanket though). The dr. gave us the OK for a pillow and blanket at her one-year check-up.

Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
Dd is 7 months and I just started giving her a thin blanket to sleep with. She likes it mostly for comfort and she's already got a habit of sucking on it!

Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
I started when the weather started getting cooler this fall. He is almost 13months now so I guess it was 9-10 months.

Re: Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
About 7 months. It's a little knit blanked with big holes. I just mentioned in a post that DD buries her head in everything so I always fel safer using one like that with holes. Lately she's been shoving it under her or kicking it off.

Around 18 months but she never stays covered. She kicks it off and ends up using it as a pillow! Or to snuggle with

Re: Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
I started at 20 months - when Sandy hit and we had no power for 2 weeks...it was very cold at night. She likes it but the first days we checked on her constantly because we knew she liked to play peek a boo with it or would get tangled and cry.
With my boys I waited until they were in a bed. My main reason is I used sleep sacks (even with my boys getting big) because I knew they would stay on them and keep them warmer. I did do pillows early though - a little after 1.

Re: Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
I still put my 10 month old in a fleece sleep sack, but I also put a blanket on him at night. He's still all over, so it doesn't stay on him, but he likes it in there.

Re: Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
Around age 1 DD got a standard size pillow and blankets. She already had stuffed animals in her bed and her baby blanket "lovey" so I wasn't worried.

Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
My son got a breathable blanket for naps since 3 months, at night at 5 months when we stopped swaddling and switched to a small heavier blanket at 7 months when the weather turned. I have the angelcare monitor so I felt a little more comfortable

Re: Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
Around that age. But DD would rather lay ON it than have it on her. So at 18.5 months I still have to use blanket sleepers to keep her warm.

Re: Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
For warmth, I don't really think a blanket would help since kids move around so much. I am a huge sleepsak fan! DD slept in one until she was in a bed over the age of 3 and DD #2 is 11 months and sleeps in one for naps and at night time. They are so cozy.

Giving a Blanket in the Crib at nighttime
Since he was born. Never any problems even though he will only go to sleep with it up on his face. But that only lasts for a minute than God.
