Gilmore GIrls
It was so sad, I'm not ready for it to be over! The last few episodes were so good. I liked how they did it all though, very classy - not cheesy. But now I want more!

I reallly like the way it ended. at luke's, where they spend most of their time anyway. it was very sweet.

That was how the first episode ended.
It was a great episode. I just with Amy Sherman Palladino will reveal the last 4 words she planned for the finale 5 years ago.

I think there were discussions about that, but since when they filmed it they didn't know if it would be a series finale or season finale it didn' t happen.

Re: Gilmore GIrls
I will admit it. I was crying right before every commercial break!
When Lorelai went into Rory's room and started crying...
When you see Luke sewing all those tents together for Rory...
When Lorelai's parents tell her they are proud of her..
Things I loved: Them ending the show the right way, in the diner.
That Luke and Lorelai kissed.
That Rory didn't go off and get married - that she did what she always wanted to do.
"After dinner drinks for sure" Lorelai said when Rory announced her departure.
That they are still doing Friday night dinners.
"It's not time yet" "Not enough Time" - they kept saying that, and well, I agree!
Things I didn't get: What was with the foreign war correspondent? I'm thinking that that was a story line that was going to go somewhere but then they got cancelled and redid it with Rory getting the online gig?
I wasn't so sold on the online gig either. Mainly because it was out of left field (ok, some job offers are) but she had been writing for this guy for a while...I don't know, it felt contrived for me.
Overall, great episode! I am so sad it's gone!

They had mentioned that before--remember she was at some party with Logan & she met some guy & was they were making fun of all the phonies at the party & then she wrote an article about it for his on-line magazine & Logan got all mad that she was so nasty in it. I think they mentioned one other time that she was still doing work for him.
I also thought the after dinner drinks part & Luke sewing the canaopy were so sweet.
I also like how when they arrive at the party in the rain their best friends' husbands escorted them to the tent.
And, on a more shallow note, I love the dress Rory was wearing to Friday night dinner.
I didn't love the whole episode though, I guess because it wasn't defintely going to be the series finale, it wasn't anything incredibly surprisng.

Yes! I remember that. What I meant was that - if she was writing for him for a while and she lost out on the good internship wouldn't she (in a previous episode) had contacted him to say "hey, i need a longer gig." To me, the whole thing felt like it was an "easy way out" to explain where she was going and what she was doing.
I agree with you that since it wasn't their REAL, SCRIPTED finale, there were some things that were lost. I definitely wanted it to end as it did - where nothing major crazy happened, that Lorelai stays in that town, etc. etc. but I felt like it was a little mushed together to make a finale.
Or maybe I'm just reading too much into because I am so mad it's over! :(

Re: Gilmore GIrls
Loved it.... Loved when they got out of the car at the party in the rain. I also got all teared up the last time they left the house together when Lorelai said "one last stop" I always LOVED their house and it was sad to me that I wouldnt be seeing it anymore. I thought I would be disappointed since they didn't know it would be the series finale when they filmed it but I thought it was perfect

Re: Gilmore GIrls
Did they show her graduate? What did Paris end up doing? Did they show Lane and the twins? Did Sookie (sp?) have her baby?

She graduated last week - and it was pretty emotional at the end.
Paris I think went to Harvard Medical (Is that right guys?)
Lane and the twins are doing well - they showed them.
Sookie didn't have her baby yet.
One of the best things is that they showed EVERYONE - so that you got to see them - especially when they got to the tent and panned across to see everyone.
Although I've said I wasn't too keen on the whole "online writing gig" thing - I did think it was great that they made it really current with the Barack Obama campaign trail. It makes you wonder now, oh wow - where would she be?
OMG, can they please come back in a few years?

Re: Gilmore GIrls
I have to say.. in the history of series finales... Friends and SATC are the only ones I really liked and was left feeling fulfilled from. Gilmore Girls is now added to that list. I loved the entire episode. It wasn't over-done, it ended perfectly. I'm glad Rori and Laurelei didn't have an emotional goodbye because I honestly would have LOST it! Ended it at Luke's was PERFECT!
I'm sad to see it go, but I'm glad it ended the way it did....
Although I was hoping to see Mrs. Kim making out with some guy..
