Gift Question
My sister is receiving an award at C.W. Post tomorrow.
It's an art award of some prestige, she was nominated for it by her professor.
I don't know how big the ceremony is, but it is combined with the announcement that her current sculpture is going to be a permanent installation at the school.
What do I give her as a gift?
I'm thinking flowers, but that seems so blase.

I think I would give her jewelry, even if it is something small. I have a few pieces I was given for important milestones in my life, and while they are not that valuable, whenever I wear them, I always remember the reason I got it and the person who gave it to me.

I like the certificate idea too.
Or maybe take a really nice picture of the sculpture and frame that for her?
Was there a formal invitation, you could frame that.
I think it calls for something sentimental.

Can you get a professional photographer to take a great shot of the sculpture that she can hang in her house? Maybe with her posing next to it?

Wow! She should be SO honored.
I like the jewelry idea . Maybe a bracelet. And a nice card telling her
how proud of her you are.

Thanks everyone!
I'm going to do the card and see if she gets a certificate for the award, if not I really like the professional photo idea.
ETA: She's not really a jewelry person, so that won't have as much of an effect on her.

Yeah a GC would be nice. Depending on her hobbies, a book, video or music GC or if you know her fave clothing stores, that would be good too or even a restaurant one.
