Gift for real estate agent
We will hopefully be closing on our new house in the next month. We want to get our real estate agent a thank you gift because he has been amazing through this whole process (especially dealing with my very anxious and impatient husband! ) We were thinking probably a gift certificate to a nice restaurant for him and his wife to use. What is a good amount?

Re: Gift for real estate agent
Your gift is the check your agent gets at closing. ;)
Honestly, I've bought 3 homes and sold 2 in the past 10 years and RE agents are the ones who send me gifts after I've closed on my new home, whether I'm the buyer or the seller...
The best gift you can give them beside closing on the home is referring clients to them.

Re: Gift for real estate agent
That is extremely nice of you! I like to think I've had great relationships with all of my customers, but I've never received (or expected) a gift at closing. I get my buyers a housewarming gift!
I agree that the best gift to any realtor is remembering their good service and recommending them to others. Also, a testimonial letter raving about your realtor would be a good gift - I keep those letters and use them as references with potential new customers. Real estate is very competitive and the best source of new business is past customers, so that is a great way to show appreciation!
I also like it when customers invite me back to the home after they move in, so I can see what changes they've made and if they are enjoying the home. It's nice to see the "end result" of the process and know you have a satisfied customer.
It sounds like your realtor was great, but it is his job to guide you guys through the process, answer questiions, etc., so I am sure he is not expecting a gift.
If you decide to get one, I think a restaurant gift card is a perfect idea.

Re: Gift for real estate agent
They get a gift when they get paid If anything I would think maybe a nice bottle of wine or something but if you really want to get a restaurant GC, I would think $100 would be sufficient, unless its to a less expensive restaurant- then you can probably get away with $50
