Gift for 4 yr old question
My boyfriend and I were invited to a 4 year olds birthday bbq on saturday. unfortunatly we can not go and we r so bummed about it.
I did not know what to get the little girl so I purchased 10 awesome childrens books and then I was going to get another small present since I figure they have enough toys and clothes...
BUt since we r not going NOW i wanted to kno if i can still give them the books wrapped up and have my bf give it to his co-worker for his daughter on friday...
do books make a tacky gift?
they r not cheapy or anything but im not sure if it is appropriate

I think books are fine. If you want another small gift (which will go over better with a 4 year old girl) pick up a webkinz stuffed animal.

I think thats a wonderful idea! Books are always a good gift - especially at 4 years old - she'll be learning how to read soon if she's not learning already.
Giving it to your BF to give to his co-worker is fine - I think its great that you are still giving her the gift even though you are not going.

I don't know why you'd think books are a tacky gift. Most parents I know welcome them with open arms. With all the toys out there, most of which sound better in the ads than they are, books never disappoint. And 10 not so cheap books....that's a beautiful gift - I don't think you need to add anything to it.
In fact, I give most kids a book or 2 and a B&N gift card nowadays when we go to parties. Ever parent has raved over it as a great gift.
Can you tell I think it's a good gift? LOL
