Geritol Complete
OK! So instead of working, which I have soooo much work to do, I'm reading 8 million different websites about TTC. I've found a few forums om people talking about the fact that a lot of people have been taking Geritol Complete and getting pregnant the same month taking them..anyone know about this, or is this another dumb wives tale.... I know I totally shouldn't be doing this, bc I'm sure I can find a ton of different things that "worked" for different people, but wanted to see if you guys had heard about it....
Just thought it would be some good afternoon convo...

Re: Geritol Complete
I was actually on another TTC website and read about a few women taking Geritol up until O date and then continuing with their prenatal and it worked.

Re: Geritol Complete
But they say to replace it with your prenatal and when you get your BFP, start the prenatal again, bc its too many vitamins in your body. I can be your test case, I just bought a bottle today so we'll see

Re: Geritol Complete
Okay so I went to yahoo and typed in Geritol and....
And the first things that came up as serach suggestions were pregnancy and ttc.
It said "there is a baby in every bottle". I am not one to subscribe to all the supplements and all.. Barilla Plus made me laugh... Mucinex, primrose and all... SO I must be getting deparate because I am going to try it. Even my negative nilly mommy who tells me everything about me ttc is stupid (by the way she got pg without trying for every one of her 4 children...sooo... phffttt to her) told me to try it. I figure it is just a vitamin.. How bad could it be? I am just going to take a folic acid supplement and skip the prenatals.
I am buying it tonight. Broke or not. I am.

Yup. I did a little more research online and the Geritol tonic is where the whole tale began so that is what I bought. It was 2.99 for a bottle with 8 servings. I got two. And DH is going to take it also.. Whether he likes it or not.

Re: Geritol Complete
I hate to be the negative Nancy around here.. But what I really wish is someone would start a thread that says, please list all these weird things that you have tried that haven't worked. All we here are of those one or two stories that get the BFP but never the ones of the people who try this and it doesn't work.. Here are my desperate attempts at getting that BFP:
- Preseed: (when I read this I was soo sure this was going to work).. going on 9 months of using preseed and I am still not PG.
-Vitex: Another big bust (if you don't know about it here it is http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/vitex.html) - Did this for 9 months and than stopped.
-Barilla pasta: I have been eating this for the past four months and again I am still not pg.
-Clean Blue Easy fertility monitor - I have been using this for one year (and the big hype was that everyone gets pg after the 2nd month with this)... didn't work for me.
Now I am going to run out and buy Geritol Complete tonic and as I am searching for this at the store I am going to sit back and reflect about the fact that MAYBE just MAYBE all these things are just ONE BIG HYPE and marketing ploys for them to get you to buy their products.
I know we all need hope and hope is great.. but I also hate to think that these companies are getting rich off my misfortune.

Re: Geritol Complete
positive thinking and extra vitamins never hurt anyone! its not that its a hype, some products do work for some while different products for others (depending what u need) i have been trying for a long time and feel that OMG, this geritol stuff could be it!! and i am so excited to try it, maybe the postivity of it all is all that some women need to keep trucking along...... yes, all these differnt odd remedies are something to laugh at but if one of them help, and brightens our babymaking future mentally... its worth it! its a sucky process for us all but a little positive odd remedy makes it a little easier then just trying and trying over and over and over again! I am siked to try it! i wish we all come back here in the next month or 2 or 3 and all agree geritol was the missing link!!! if not, hey we gave it our all! i feel if and when i exhaust every possible remedy, then i will let my RE step in.. buying geritol is cheaper then any fertility treatment! (which i feel RE's push like crazy b/c they make so much money off it) I feel they are the ones who are getting rich off our misfortune way before treatments are needed. BABY DUST AND GERITOL COMPLETE TO ALL! KEEP THE FAITH

Re: Geritol Complete
I totally agree with everything you said and I don't want to take anyone's hope away.. but for me this is a "numbers game".. not how much hope can I have for that month. So really maybe I didn't make my point clear enough.. All I want is an honest thread with all the people that these things worked for and than all the people that it didn't work for (which you never see on any boards).. so than I can make my own decision whether to buy these things or not. I just feel that all you see is the postive and not all the people that really it didn’t work for… and I want to know it all from the bad to the good. That is just me.

I could not have said it better myself. I need at least for myself something to totally keep me going, and if its something as minor as some vitamins then hey, why not. If it keeps my spirits up and keeps me in the right mind set, then to be honest, for me it is totally working!!!! Honestly, my thoughts are this, when my parents and grandparents were having kids a lot of the technology and science out there that we have at our fingertips wasn't there, they were trying everything natrually, and to be honest it seemed like a simpler time back then. So for me to try anything before going to a DR then at least I know that I tried EVERYTHING in my power I could have, wives tale or not...
Edited to say, I'd love a poll

Re: Geritol Complete
Dh and I both took it this month.. We had hope but it didn't work. Then again I o'd really late, I think, and that would mean I stopped taking it too early.
