My grandma signed up for a policy for both of my children. I guess it's nice in case god forbid something happens. Also, it's something your child can continue to pay premiums on through adulthood and I believe the premiums never go up.

I did the grow up plan...i dont think its jsut in case something happens...I think they get money from it as well.

Nope, I don't think it's a very good product. Although it isn't a bad product, it doesn't compare well to similar products available.

I don't see the point in having life insurance for a child. Life insurance is to help the family pay bills if the breadwinner passes away. Needless to say, we didn't buy and don't plan on it.

Not necessarily. Many people have life insurance that is minimal to cover burial expenses. Funerals are pretty expensive.

we did it for DD, and at age 18 she can stop it or continue paying into it.
