Has anyone had to go for Genetic Counseling?? If so, can you recommend a place and/or a phone number to a place that does this.

Re: Genetic Counseling
DH did it at Stony Brook also. Same number. They were very thorough with counseling and testing.

Re: Genetic Counseling
do you mean testing or counseling? some of these answeres have me confused.
Genetic counseling is strongly recommended. I found (through many weeks/mos of searching) a psychologist who specializes in egg donation - she works with both couples and individuals. she is board certified and is affiliated with RMA of CT. im not sure there is much difference between a genetic counselor or a psycholigist with a specific background and history. but i do suggest seeing someone individually and as a couple with your husband.
Some people may disagree, but I feel that the weight that we carry as woman challenged in this 'area' is so heavy that we need to have professionals help us to find our way through it. I cannot say ANYTHING but positive things - she has helped me individually, helped my husband to understand more and helped us grow stronger as a couple so that we are able to move forward in a positive way.
