Generic Powder Formula

Which generic did you like best?

I just compared the BJ's price/size to Target's price/size and the BJs formula is a littler bigger and around $2 cheaper than Target.

The Target has specific types that say "Compare to Similac" or "Compare to Enfamil" but the BJ's brand only says "Compare to leading brands".

Not sure what the difference is there either.

I used Similac Advance with my DD but I am thinking of going straight to generic with DS.

Thanks! I just looked this up and they are more expensive than BJs/Target for less formula.

Re: Generic Powder Formula

I used similiac advanced with ds1 and now will be switching to similiac sensitive or enfamil equivalent i am not sure but i do remember somtimes seeing coupons for bjs generic formula in the coupon book they mail out. It is not all the time but that would be even more unexpected savings. I am not sure if target does the same.

Generic Powder Formula

Up & Up!

Cartwheel often has 5-10% off too and sometimes target has coupons that you can stack with that.

Re: Generic Powder Formula

Target because it came in the AR type she needed for reflux as well as versions of the gentleease, soy, etc

They have more varieties than any other generic formula.

Where do you get target coupons? The only ones I ever get are at the checkout.

I used to get a booklet in the mail with baby related coupons from Target. I am not sure if this is because I had the Target Red Card (though I didn't get the red card until she was almost 3 so it couldn't be from my red card purchases).
Come to think of it, that was strange!

I love the BJ's brand -- DD is on their sensitive formula and doing great! Large container is $21.99 and makes 64 4oz bottles. Their blue container (equivalent to Similac Advance) is slightly larger for the same price and yields I believe 72 4oz bottles. The front of the sensitive container does actually say "Compare to ingredients of Similac Sensitive" and the side nutritional label gives a side by side column comparison of the two. All formula in the USA must be FDA approved and meet their nutrition standards so their is very little variation in the recipes of generic vs. name brand formulas.

I jsut looked....no formula right now but there are wipes, diapers and gerber baby food.

They change all the time so you have to look periodically.

My twins started on similac advance and eventually I switched them to BJs powder.

My 3rd, as soon as I ran out of the hospital nursettes, he went on the BJs powder immediately.

They had no issues and it is so much cheaper! I wish I switched my twins sooner because I could've saved so much but I didn't know about any of this stuff then.Chat Icon

Generic formula to my knowledge is all made by one company and then packaged and private labeled for MANY different companies.
So BJ's powder is the same as Target, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart etc.

No problem. To my knowledge BJs is the generic that is comparable to similac. So if you ever run out of bjs brand and need to buy more elsewhere you can just get the generic with the blue cover!
