Gallstones
Does anyone have gallstones? I had some medical issues last winter and found out through an MRI on my back (and then a follow up sonogram) that I have a gallstone. The doctor said that I didn't need to do anything about it. I trust him but I am nervous that if I do get pregnant it can cause complications in the pregnancy. Anyone else deal with this?

Re: Gallstones
IDK if different cases are treated differently. But a friend of mine had gallstones. She let it go for a while... she didn't know what was wrong.
She was having major issues issues that were getting worse and worse as time went on. Over time gallstones can grow and become more bothersome, which is what happened with my friend.
She eventually needed her gallbladder out.
I would speak to another dr about this if I were you.

Re: Gallstones
Thanks for the replies. They found the gallstones when I was having severe back pain and they said the two were not connected-I don't know if I really agree b/c I have heard MANY people say they had bad back pain and had gallstones. I did have one gallbladder attack (I think) but it was two years ago. I thought it was really bad heartburn or a heart attack, but after 10-15 minutes it went away and that never happen again. I know I should have gone to the doctor at that point but I am really gifted at ignoring these things! Now that we are TTC I am nervous! I had hernia surgery last winter (a result of my first pregnancy) and at that time I had the gallstones but I didn't know about it. I wish I did know about it so I could have it taken out when the hernia surgery was done! UGH! too much to worry about. I have a gyn. appt. in the beginning of Dec. I will bring it up then.
