I just called the showroom in Middle Village, Queens. They said that they are closing but they don't know when. They said they are only selling merchandise off the floor and that they will honor my credit.
I think I better go soon...who knows when they will close!
This is horrible.

Yeah I was actually in Raymore and Flanagan last night and they said they just took over about 20 Levitz locations.
FYI... they lied. They did not take over anything. Levitz was auctioned off and a liquidator bought them. The courts are finalizing this today. They will hold the sales and then the stores will close. Then a lot of really great people will be without a job for Christmas.
This is true....I am one of these people.
 I'm so sorry! My friend's DH is/was a VP there too :(

This is horrible.
You should go ASAP, I was there yesterday to try to track down a sofa and most merchandise on the floor was already purchased,just waiting to be picked-up. So if you don't hurry, you may have only very little to choose from.

I had two people call our firm today saying they were waiting on deliveries from Levitz that they placed a month ago and were told today they wouldn't be getting their furniture OR a refund. They were both fuming. One paid in cash so he's screwed. The other at least paid with a CC so she can dispute it. I was also told that Levitz filed BK and that the merchandise being sold in their stores is owned by someone else in charge of liquidating it, not Levitz.

I just spoke with someone there. Anyone waiting for an order - you will most likely NOT get it. They won't even give you a refund. You have to go to small claims court to get it (at least that's what they told me). Or disput the charge with your credit card company.
Unfortunately this is true. I just had furniture delivered and one of the chairs was slightly damaged - no big deal but I want it to be perfect - They called and canceled the delivery for the new chair. I'm going to go there and see if I can take the one out of the showroom. But I feel thankful that I have my furniture.

They delivered my sofa today. They were on time, quick and it looks perfect. I am so thankful! I gave the delivery guys a larger tip than normal because I feel bad they will be out of a job and they did a really good job.
