My husband is definitely missing a few screws! VENT
He is really bad with the whole gift giving make your significant other feel special on X-mas/valentines/anniversary thing. I crack jokes on how I know I'll be getting the usual big fat nothing and stuff. So here's how I know he's completely lost it. After complaining about my being upstairs and leaving him to tend to the baby for a whole hour he says he's going to Home Depot. Ok?
First off he was at home depot earlier this afternoon and Second off it's friggin' 10:30 at night. So I ask what on earth he is going to home depot for again and he says he's going to pick something up for me.
W T F are you going to get me from Home depot??? A chainsaw? Some lumber? Paint? HOW ROMANTIC!
I told him to just come upstairs and go to bed if he knows what is good for him.

Re: My husband is definitely missing a few screws! VENT
I told my DH I was running around out to get chocolate for the daycare teachers. I said "Do you need me to get you anything?" He told me "Yeah. If you see a nice card for yourself, can you pick it up for me."
  NEGATIVE POINTS.
Little does he know he really did get me something nice...
I feel your pain. I hope you get something you like.

     he sounds like my DH!!!
i told mine i had to study tomorrow night, so we couldnt really do anything, and he was practically jumping for joy

but, i Do love Home Depot, so (depending what he picked out), i'd probably be happy. Nothing says romance like paint samples and lighting fixtures

While I am sorry DH is a duh, I am glad I am not the only woman whose DH is not "the greatest in the world!!".
He says I am getting something tomorrow...but I doubt it. It is our 2 year engagement anniversary too. I made dinner reservations, otherwise I would get diddly....

My husbands favorite store is Home Depot. If he could buy me things there. His life would be complete!

My husbands jaw dropped when my 4 year old son said "Tomorrow is Valentines day Daddy" That's right he forgot.
I did buy him things but, he pis$ed me off tonight so he won't get them in the morning!

DH is not creative in the gift department either. Up until last year, he would bring me shopping for sneakers (weird tradition, I know )
This year we had a weekend on the North Fork, which was absolutely beautiful. We went out to eat twice while we were there and all together we spend a bunch of money, so I don't expect him to get me anything. If I didn't plan the weekend, we wouldn't have even did that!

Re: My husband is definitely missing a few screws! VENT
I don't mean to diminish the feelings of anyone who does celebrate Valentine's Day and ends up waiting for gifts from a forgetful DH.
After dating an ex of mine, it took me quite sometime to realize he just was the forgetful type. He loved me with a passion I was floored by and he did so many little things for me that I learned to accept the fact that cards, flowers and surprises just weren't going to be in that relationship. He did always write me poems, he would walk into a florist and buy me flowers on the spot and surprise me that way. It was during this relationship that I heard the words of a Gin Blossom song that really cleared it up for me:
You can trust me not to drink And not to sleep around And if you don't expect too much form me YOu might not be let down

So I no longer "expect" things, but I learned to appreciate the little things now.
