 I miss Long Island
I was out for the weekend, and it was so nice to be surrounded by family, eat NY pizza, walk around the neighborhood..have my parents dog sleep in my bed with me...
I just miss that, being out here in Rhode Island. And, if prices were not through the roof, we would be able to afford to live in Long Island...
Just feeling a little bit homesick I guess

I am from Sag Harbor. Born and Raised there. I LOVE it there, but the prices are outrageous!

  Thanks Jenn!!!!
We got slices of sicilian there on Friday Night! They have the most amazing sicilian pizza EVER!
I mention sicilian pizza here in RI, and they are like

 Re: I miss Long Island
I am coming up in May and I cant wait. I am counting the days. Hubby has his favorite pizza place plugged into his cell so the minute we walk off that plane he can place his order and we'll pick it up.
Over Christmas I really got terribly homesick. I missed everyone so much.
I cant wait to come up in May.
You think asking for sicilian is bad, try asking for semolina bread. or individual slices. No one in FL sells pizza by the slice. It's a whole pie or nothing.

nobody in RI sells a slice either..its a pie or nothing....and for some reason, everyone here in RI feels the need to specify they want cheese on their pizza...

In RI, they say,....I would like to order a pizza with cheese and pepperoni...

I went to school in Providence, and only got greasy, nasty pizza in town (I think the place is/was called Saki's). They did sell it by the slice, but not worth it.
Funny...I remember the thing about the cheese too...weird, huh?

  That's crazy.
I miss delivery. No one delivers. Actually Pizza Hut is the only place that delivers. The one decent pizza place here is only open from 4pm - 10pm Mon - Fri. Sat 3pm - 11pm and Closed on Sunday. What pizza place is closed on Sunday No delivery!!
I miss those little things about home

I know how you feel. I was home last month and enjoyed the 5 days that I was there. The first thing I did was stop and get a slice from the local pizzeria. The next night was chinese food. I have to get my fill before I come back to Chicago, it's just not the same here.

 Re: I miss Long Island
Well I can join you all in saying I miss Long Island. Living in Florida has its ups and downs, but LI is where my home is!!! I miss my family so much. We are moving back home in June, so I can have my baby near my family, however, we can't afford a place, so I have to go back home with mommy & daddy.
DH and I both agree this is the best situation for now, so we can save more money for a house, becuase I will not be working the first year or so.
But still it s**ks. It's a shame that LI is so expensive and you can't afford to live where you grew up.
We do plan on moving out of state eventually unless there is a drastic change in the housing prices.

Oh, I so have a lineup too! Usually includes pizza, chinese and LOBSTER!!!!
I don't think I've tasted my poor mom's cooking in years because whenever I come home I have a list of restaurants to hit.
Holly, You're not alone, I get so depressed sometimes

Oh my god, I have the same kind of line up when I come home to LI...Cheesecake Factory, Diners, LOBSTER, Mom's BBQ, Virgils (in Times Square) and of course BAGELS...
I always bring some bagels back to the UK with me...you will know me on the plane, I am the one with the bag that smells like onions.
(controversial statement coming up) think British Chinese food is better than American Chinese food, its more authentic.[
