 sorry - another dress/shoe question
I am wearing a brown dress to a DAY wedding on monday
are wedges ok? the ceremony is outside- I don't want to ruin the heels on my gold shoes
Last time I wore the dress I wore it with the wedges- but it was to a bridal shower- (at the Ritz Carlton)
  what do you think?

Re: sorry - another dress/shoe question
If the wedges aren't the cork/wooden ones - I say go for it.
However, if they are the cork/wooden wedges, I think it dresses the dress down a little...
but then again, it's an outdoor day wedding, so it's not as formal as a night wedding...
okay...i don't think i'm making any sense now..

I think you are right....that's why I asked for pictures....and it's true what you said..if the wedges are the cork/wooden ones, it definitely dresses down the dress a little.....

Why would the heels get ruined?

the heel part is thin- and I feel like they will fall into the cracks on the patio- where the grout is
it happens to me at work - they did the tile floor with the spacing to far and I have ruined all my shoes- and have to get thoses little tips put on all the time

Re: sorry - another dress/shoe question
hmmm, depends on how dressy/sexy they were I think. Because it's a day wedding, it gives you a bit more leeway - and the fact that it's outside.
I wish I could see the dress & shoes to say for certain, but seeing the things that you've posted in the past (LIW), I think you've got a good sense of style. And if you're already considering it, then I think you can pull it off!
ETA: I agree with the cork-bottom comments. Those kind of shoes tend to be more casual. But like I said before, if they are dressy enough, I think you can pull it off.
(Not really helping here, am I?)

Re: sorry - another dress/shoe question
every thing is from last year- so you will have to use your imagination alittle

  the wedge is like this

but minus the jewels and picture rope- they are Micheal Kors- they were all over the magzines and saks catalog last year- with a gold strap

Re: sorry - another dress/shoe question
I was at a wedding last weekend, and I saw a lot of guests wearing "earth" colored dresses (such as beige, brown, rust colored) - and all with pretty wedge sandals that really complimented it. It was also a day wedding. They all looked perfectly fine - I say go for it!

Re: sorry - another dress/shoe question
I like those, but I think I would go with a more delicate looking shoe..does that make sense?
