fundraising events?
Friends of ours just had a large fire in their house this week, and they have 19 month old twins.
DH and I were thinking about doing a fundraiser for them at a bar. How do these generally work?
Any advice? Thanks

fundraising events?
We do one every year for the MS Society. The bar allows us to collect a cover at the door, but we are not allowed to make it mandatory (truthfully, though most people find out what we are collecting for and are more than willing to donate). Last year, there was a special drink and every time someone ordered that drink, a portion went back to the cause. We also put together auction baskets and do a 50/50 raffle. The night is a lot of fun and we usually raise a good amount of $$$. PM me if you want more info or have specific questions.
