Friends birthday gift
A girlfriend's husband is turning 60. A few months back she asked our group of friends if we'd be interested in celebrating at an all inclusive resort in Punta Cana. Everyone said yes sounds like fun. She followed up last week with the dates, it's 5 nights, Thursday-Tuesday and then surprises all of us that the resort is on her and all we have to pay is the airfare. There are 12 of us going so she's paying for 6 rooms. The cost of the room is about $2000-$2500 per couple.
9 of us are thinking of going in on a gift. I'd love to hear your thoughts on gift ideas and also how much would you give. We do not want to get a gift card.

Is he into Sports? How about a massive TV for the living room at his house? They are having amazing TV sales since Super Bowl is around the corner..

Re: Friends birthday gift
Going by this post, Money doesn't seem to be an issue for them.
Maybe some sort of experience gift? Something he wouldn't even think of himself, but you know he'd enjoy.

Wow, that is really generous.
I agree wth an experience gift. Sounds like they want for nothing. Maybe a weekend in the city at an nice hotel, tickets to a show and a nice dinner.

How about a couple of excursions on the trip or a couples dinner on the beach?

Sporting event tickets? Or I also like the idea of a special excursion or meal on the trip.

I know crazy generous! All I came up with was a Tag watch. An experience gift Is a great idea! I'll have to look around. The guys will be paying for his golf on vacation but maybe there is something else that we can do while we're there too.

Agree with the others, I would def get something for them while on the trip like a special beach dinner, spa day package, room upgrade and /or excursion. Maybe look into a Photo Shoot for the two of them to take special pics??

Re: Friends birthday gift
I saw you said he likes golf. Are they from Long Island? Maybe a round of golf at the Bethpage course or tickets to the Masters (? or whatever that big tournament is?). I need friends like them!
