Formula feeding and timing

How often do you feed your formula fed 3 month old? I know every baby is different but I am starting to wean DS2 and he is a very fussy eater to begin with and now he is only eating 4 oz max every 3 hours which I feel like is too little. I do not like to fed on demand but rather in some type of schedule. I am trying to stretch it to every 3.5 hours and see what happens but just wondered what everyone else was doing. Thanks!

I think at 3 mo, mine were on a schedule of every 5 oz every 4 hrs. (5 bottles per day). It seemed I had to wait til they could take more oz in at feedings before they stretched timing.

I think she took 5-6 ozs every three hours for a total of five bottles. She's still on the same schedule now more or less.

DS eats 5-6oz every 3-4 hours. He sleeps through the night for about 12 hours.

DD is 5 oz every 3 hours during the day.

We just upped her she drinks 5-6ozs every 2-3hrs.

DS gets 5oz every 3 hours during the day. It comes to 5 or 6 bottles depending on when he wakes up/goes to sleep. He sleeps from about 8pm-6am.

He will be 3 mo tomorrow.

When DD was three months she ate every 3 hours between 4 and 6oz.

We have done every 4 hours since he was born. The hospital started us on that and we kept it going. When he started looking for a bottle sooner we upped the amount to stay in schedule. By 2.5 months he had 6 oz every 4 hourss skipping a night feeding. So 5 6oz bottles. He is just over 5 months and we are still at 30 oz a day but consolidating to 4 bottles now.

My dd drank smaller bottles more often. She was in 4oz for soooo long but ate every 2 hours. She had reflux so the milk was soothing for her.

DD is 12 weeks old tomorrow and right now her schedule is something like this (might change depending on if she wakes up a half hour earlier or later):

6 am: 3 oz
9 am: 4 oz
12 pm: 4 oz
4 pm: 4 oz
7 pm: 4 oz
9 pm: 7 oz

The 6 am bottle is a little one because usually she eats and then goes back down for another 1.5-2 hours. The last bottle is the most because it helps her to sleep. Lately she's been sleeping from 10:30/11:00-5:30/6:00. I think that if you are happy with the way your LO is sleeping, then I wouldn't mess with how he's eating.

DS has a 6oz bottle at 6:30-7am, 10-10:30am, 2:00, 5:00, 745-8pm and then in bed for the night. Has has had this bottle schedule since 2 months old, he's just over 4 months now. Obviously with less formula per bottle when he was younger.

Ds is 3 months (yesterday) and he takes 4 bottles a day 6-7 oz and is amazingly on a schedule

Ds #1 ate all day. I thought ds #2 was eating too little bc when i looked back ad ds#1 he was taking 40oz somedays
But dr said ds2 is fine.

Thanks for all the responses. His eating has really dropped in the past few days. I am not sure if he is getting sick or something. I will be taking him to to dr tomorrow. Today was a struggle to get him to eat more than 3 oz every 3 hours. As far as the night time, he wakes up usually at 1 and 4 to eat and is sometimes hungry again at 530/6. It seems like the nighttime is the only time I can get him to eat more bc he is half asleep.

At around 4 months, we started reducing how much we fed in the MOTN (I know some people object to this) but we did that so they would eat more during the day and after a day or so, they did.. and stopped waking for the MOTN feeding.
At 3 months Baby A was eating no more than 3 oz per feeding..
It slowly increased though.
If there's no crazy growth spurt going on, it might be completely normal.
