For those who were deadset against having another
Did you ever randomly get hit with these thoughts out of the blue that you were open to having another one?
DS is going to be 5 and I've ALWAYS felt like I was satisfied with one.
DS is not easy at all and I feel like my life is the structure/routine I like it to be.
Lately though I've been hit with these overwhelming thoughts however about having another one.
DH would go for it in a heartbeat, but I am questioning if it would be a good decision.
Plus I am getting a lot older (late 30's).
I also think this time around we would need to be realistic about having a different child care option. My ILs have always watched all the grandchildren but I think since the grandkids are getting older now, they are seriously thinking about enjoying their retirement.
I'd be working to pay for daycare if we were to have another and quitting my job is NOT an option.
You can tell me if I'm being crazy. I can take it.

One word. No.
I have never ever felt so sure or strongly about someting in my life. I knew from the moment I got pregnant that I'd never want another. And that feeling has only grown stronger as DD has gotten older. Never wavered once.

Re: For those who were deadset against having another
DH and I were deadset against another. I told everyone that we were one and done for YEARS. DS was very sick as a baby and to some degree it traumatized me. I also think I suffered a bit from post-partum anxiety because of it. I was so happy as our family of three. I also loved the idea of being able to have more money to do whatever we wanted with DS and save for his college. As I got further and further from the baby stage I realized more and more that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that I really did want to go for another. It was a little feeling that grew and grew until I couldn't ignore it anymore. Right as DS turned 3, we chose to go for another. We ended up giving birth to DD a month before he turned 4. I now can't imagine my life without her!! It was tough in the beginning, but I am so happy that we went for it. I no longer care about the money, college or taking time away from DS because she is amazing and I'm so glad she was brought into our lives. You can only do what is right for you, but this was my story and how we went from "one and done" to "two and happy".
ETA: People were SHOCKED when we told them we were pregnant the second time! We were so adamant against another that it came as a total surprise! It was kind of fun!

I change my mind a lot. Right now, I'm happy with one but open for another... in a few years.

Wow you're read my mind. I've been feeling so on the fence lately. I posted about it just now.
