most of the above 
I didn't go to 9+ years of higher ed to work a couple weeks and then stay home. that would be a waste of a decade IMO.
Also, I think I'd go stir-crazy if I was home alone all the time.. so another vote for mental stimulation....
Finally, DH is in grad school right now and on stipend. I make more $$ since I'm done, so my salary is needed.

reasons 1 and 2 really
we do need the dual income and i do make more than DH
i have worked too long and too hard to just stop
i wish i could stay home
maybe if we win the lottery LOL

I wouldnt say I "must" return to work, I LOVE what I do and my office is great- so I will work pt 2 days( 8 hrs a week= 340.00) when baby #2 arrives. that will be my spending cash for whatever I need plus whatever DH gives me too.

We wouldn't make it on one income. Plus, I enjoy working. I cherish the breaks I get from school, but I enjoy working, too.

I put other because I don't have to work FT but to keep my license I have to work a minimum. Not sure what it is. I will take 6-9 months off this time around then go back to a PT schedule. Not sure how many days a week.

I dread having to bring my newborn to day care, but we need both incomes to pay the mortgage and other bills. Ahh, the joys of home ownership.......................
