For those that have a full time nanny/babysitter
three questions
How much do you pay per week? How much time do you get off for vacation and do you pay her for that time off?
Im asking because I want to be fair (going from PT to FT) but between DH and I, we get 9 weeks vaca and only 2 of those weeks we will take together.
So essentially, our nanny would get paid for up to 9 weeks vacation if we pay her for all of our time off. Is it fair to only pay her for some of that time off.. especially if we are generous with her regular weekly salary?
Feel free to FM me if necessary

Our nanny gets 2 to 3 weeks vacation. She gets paid all holidays that I am off from work. Regarding you getting so much vacation - remember if you take off from work doesn't mean she has to be off. You can run errands and get things done or have her do other things. Eg organize clothes for the seasons while you hang with your little one.
The way I have always looked at it - how would you like if you had to take unpaid time off. This is their livelihood and they depend on getting paid every week.

We pay our nanny when we don't use her. If just DH or I take off we frequently don't give her the day off - it is nice to have the help.

Re: For those that have a full time nanny/babysitter
We have a FT nanny. We pay her $700 per week and she gets a paid day off for every day the market is closed. She also gets 10 days paid vacation. If we use more than 10 vacation days, we pay her for the difference.
Similar to the post above, if I'm off but DH is not, I still have her come in so I can do errands.
Lmk if you have any other questions. We've had her for a little over a year.
