Sunny & her babies are doing great, I don't have new pics but I will take some this weekend. Cassandra and Farah are feathered out, BillieJean still is mostly down & she's the smallest. The babies are very attached to Sunny & really don't like to be touched by me-but I touch them anyway 
When Sunny & her sisters were little I was their Momma so they didn't mind being handled. These babies just want Sunny & each other. Sunny is moulting, meaning she's loosing tons of feathers. I have read that this is a common thing for a Momma hen. She is so good to the babies, she lets them take turns riding on her back , she lets the big girls know that her babies are off limits. I've been allowing Sunny's brood to free range when the big girls are out and at this point the big girls run away from the babies-its pretty funny. The other day Cassandra got confused at ran across the yard toward Marguerite(Sunny's "twin") while Sunny and the other babies went the other way and Margie RAN from the baby as if she was running for her life! LOL
I'm really starting to think Cassandra is a boy, time will tell.
At times Sunny seems really bored with motherhood & ready to get back to the flock, but most of the time she plays with the babies & teaches them stuff.
They Play with each other two, they do this chest bump thing that is so funny.
Hopefully Sunny will want to raise them for a few more weeks and hopefully the big girls will except them into the flock 
I'll post pics this weekend!!

by request I'm posting new pics of Sunny and the babies. They are 4 weeks old
Cassandra is HUGE compared to the others, I'm pretty sure she is actually a he, time will tell. Cass is the most adventerous.
Here is Sunny with all 3 babies, she is such a good Mommy!
She has really taught them to enjoy the yard and stay away from danger, they love napping in the garden
BillieJean still has not gotten all of her feathers, she is very spunky
Farrah is really shy & the most attached to Mommy
Sunny even taught the babies to come to the back door for snacks 
I have started to allow Sunny and the babies to stay in the run with the big girls on a limited basis. So far the big girls do not mess with the babies at all because Sunny goes ape$hit on anyone that gets too close to them
I'm trying to teach the babies how to roost, I would like to move them into the coop with the rest of the flock in the next couple of weeks.
Marguerite (Sunny's twin) seems to be showing signs of being broody 
I guess she wants to be like Sunny I'm just going to let her sit on infertile eggs, I can't handle anymore excitment!!

So Sunny's babies are 5 weeks old already!
They are growing quickly and I thought I'd post some new pics s you can see.
BillieJean is a character, I'm starting to think "she" is a boy too
She also is the smallest & really a late bloomer with getting her grownup feathers-here you can see she actually has bald spots where her down feel out but no feathers have grown in yet!
Farrah is still really shy, but she's fully feathered & adorable and I'm sure she's a girl!
Cass is big & beautiful and everyday that that passes convinces me that she is a he!
All of their voices are starting to change, they have the Peter Brady puberty voices starting because they are almost teenagers.
So far things are still going well with the big girls and the babies, hopefully they will be ready to move into the coop in a couple of weeks.
Marguerite is 100% broody and acting just as crazy as Sunny has done in the past. I've been trying to "break her brood" but it hasn't worked.

Aww i love the pics!! They are so cute!! Poor Marguerite is jealous of her sister...Have you completely decided what you are going to do if the shes turn out to be hes? I know you've mentioned it before...i just can't remember.

as promised, some newer pics. The babies are 7.5 weeks old
Probably the biggest update on the babies is that I believe the gray ones( BillieJean and Farrah) are Bantams-or half size chickens. I really didn't ask too many questions to the breeder I got them from, I was just so thrilled to find babies the right age for Sunny at the time.
Here's a picture of Cass & BillieJean, they are only 1 day apart in age & totally different sizes!
Also we really dont refer to Cass as Cassandra anymore because I'm pretty she "she" is a rooster! you can see the very, tiny & shy Farrah peeking out from behind Cass
Cass sometimes tries to play with Sunny the way he plays with BillieJean and Sunny scolds him, its so funny.
Also BillieJean has officially proven himself to be a mister, He has been trying to crow every morning at around 5:40 am, right now he sounds like a broken bicycle horn. He also has taken to "attacking" my foot as soon as he comes out of the nursery in the morning. Its actually comical, but I've already started to break him of that behavior.
Rich & I talked to a bunch of our neighbors about having a rooster and everyone said they dont care-we are still on the fence about what we will do. I've got feelers out to re-home them if needed. 
And little Miss Farrah-almost impossible to take her picture or pick her up, she's so shy and you can see she has very little red on her face compared to the others which means she's a pullet(a hen under one year old) not a cockerel aka rooster
Sunny is still the model Mother Hen, very protective of her babies. Another funny thing is that Cass & BillieJean still insist on sleeping under Sunny, considering their size its getting a bit ridiculous but she deals with it. Farrah sleeps on top of the nest now. I'm hoping to intergrate Sunny and the babies into the coop in the next week or so. The other big girls do let the babies know they are in charge but I haven't seen any real aggression.
Crazy Marguerite is still spending all of her days in the empty nest, acting just as nutty as Sunny did.

I can't believe how BIG they are getting!!! You must be so proud!!! I don't know much about chicken but Cass just looks like a boy to me!! Maybe bc he is built!!!
I feel bad to Marguerite and I am hoping this is just a stage for her. Maybe she is jealous of all the attention Sunny got!!!
I love seeing the updates!!!

Rut-Roh.........Cass and BillieJean were BOTH trying crow this morning at 5:45
I guess I can stop telling myself that Cass is just a very big girl
