Food Storage Containers
Which kind do you use? I had a tupperware party back in 2008/2009 and I've been using those, but I feel like after a million washings they're starting to smell a little bit.
Is it time to switch and toss these? I'm wondering if I should switch to glass storage, like pyrex.

Re: Food Storage Containers
Glass is great but it's sooooo heavy in my bag. I bring a few containers every day, plus a gym bag 3x/week.
I have this set from IKEA. It was $5. HOLLA.

Just be sure whichever containers you use are safe ones. Check the numbers on the bottoms of them.
Avoid 3, 6 and 7.
You don't want to be using or giving your kids foods stored in plastic containers that leak chemicals into the foods in them.

Re: Food Storage Containers
Right now I'm still using the tupperware (which I'm sure are safe) but I'm really considering glass. I'm not one for re-using things like chinese containers, etc, but I will check the numbers if I pick up new plastic ones.

Stainless steel or glass is best.

Tupperware has a lifetime warranty and can be replaced. Speak to a rep about it. I think you only have to pay for shipping.

I use lock & lock. The ikea ones were good for a while but then started having trouble staying closed. Lock & lock are very secure.

Thinking of picking up a set of Pyrex. I have a Kohls gift card anyway, so why not.

My mom has these. I bring food form her house all the time, and my issue is the lids don't stay on. Also, I freezer her food sometimes, and I ended up breaking the lid when the container fell out of the freezer.
I have a set from Costco. I find the locks better. DH abuses his containers, and these hold up really well. They have a rubber part in the lid to prevent spilling. He's taken soup to work with no accidents. I've had mys et for about 5 years, and a few may need to be replaced soon, but most have held up really well.
