Food question for after you give birth
I know there are foods you can't eat during pregnancy. Are you allowed to eat them while breastfeeding or are they still off limits? I can't wait to have a deli sandwich after the baby is born.....but is it still safe if I breastfee my baby or can I have my hubby bring me one in the hospital??

Re: Food question for after you give birth
You can eat that after giving birth - just make sure DH checks before he brings it up to make sure you are eating solid food. With my DD I was on a liquid diet for the first 24hrs and all I had wanted was a bologna hero so I had to wait an extra day. I can't imagine the torture had he brought it up and I couldn't eat it!

Yes, it's totally safe! Enjoy it, I had my family bring me a big italian hero after I delivered and holy goodness, that was the BEST hero I've ever had

You can eat anything- but just need to limit anything artificial sweeteners, caffeine and alcohol.

Totally safe. I had my dad bring me a tuna sandwich a day in the hospital.

Exactly this. Also you may find that certain foods irritate DC through the BM. This happened a lot in the first month or so with DS whenever I had dairy. After 6 weeks or so no more issue.

I didn't breastfeed but, our hospital served deli sandwiches - I ate them for every meal
