Another DELISH way to make asparagus...
Lay them all on a baking sheet, spray with pam, sprinkle with creole seasoning, bake at 400 for 7 mins

Re: Food for 45 people? Need help!
I don't think you need the hero with all that food for 45 people.
IMO, I would do other roasted veggies with the asparagus as well. Throw in some peppers, maybe some cut up sweet potatoes as well. Not everyone eats asparagus. You can throw onions in as well. Make it real simple, coat with some olive oil and garlic and toss in the oven. Cauliflower and broccoli are great like this! I do it all the time.
We have DD's 1st bday party saturday as well! We are just doing it at the park and ordering pizza and garlic knots. I have 48 people coming, and we are getting 11 pies. I am making a salad, and cutting up watermelon for dessert along with cookies and cake!!
Have fun!!!!

I think this sounds perfect! Yes, from my experience you need the hero. It's a good thing I just went through this!

Re: Food for 45 people? Need help!
DEFINITELY need more food.
i had 55 people 2 weeks ago and had the following food:
chips/dip/salsa for all tables
1 full tray of the following: sausage and peppers penne a la vodka kielbasa + saurkraut rice chicken nuggets
50 hot dogs/buns 3lbs of each mac, potato, coleslaw a large bowl of green salad and 2 6 FOOT HEROS (1 italian, 1 chicken cutlet/mozz/peppers)
and we really didn't have too much leftover - just some hot dogs, chicken nuggets and pasta.

Re: Food for 45 people? Need help!
I would def make a salad with that and if you don't want to go for the hero get some italian bread for dipping.
I made WAY too much food this past week for 30 people and it was such a waste of money!!
Why don't you make the salad yourself to save money. 3 heads of iceberg lettuce or 6 romains should be enought. Add some cherry tomatos, red onion and a cucumber and you are in business! Everyone likes a good salad with your other choices
