Food and cake for adults

My daughter's 5th birthday party is from 2pm-4pm. I was going to order food and cake for the adults but DH doesn't think we need to since it is an off time and most people won't be hungry. I don't want to have nothing for them, so I was thinking just cake?

Update:

Thanks! I decided to got with my first instinct and order pizza and cake for adults. It is a kids party at a place, so there aren't many options for food. You can't bring in your own food and there are no snack choices on the menu unless bagels with cream cheese count... The kids get ice cream, so there is no leftover cake to serve. I have to order it separately for adults if I want to serve it.

I would have food. Ive never been to a party without food. You have to have something for people.

Thanks, I agree. There is no way I'd have nothing, so I'd definitely do at least cake. I think we need food, DH thinks we don't.

You definitely need food and more than just cake. Some people will come to the party without eating lunch because they are expecting food.

Unless you make it very clear on your invites that it's cake only for adults, I think people will be expecting food.

Is this basically a kids party and the adults will be parents that hang around? If so idk that as a parent I'd expect to be fed. It would be a nice gesture though!

Never been to a party that didn't have food.
Pizza and fruit salad would be enough (people could choose to snack or eat).

Food, maybe sandwiches or something more light like a hero and salads

I chose other because I do agree that it is an off time so I wouldn't have a lot of food. I would put out apps---hot and cold. Place some bowls of chips and dip and call it a day.

I would have food for the adults even if you just order a little extra of whatever the kids are having. If not you should at a minimum have refreshment and snacks for the adults.

Every kids party I have attended has had food for the adults. Many choose not to eat it but, it's a nice gesture.

As for cake, most of the parties I've attended didn't serve cake to adults but, had cake leftover after the kids were served that the adults could have if they wished.

Absolutely have food for adults. Even apps will do if you don't want to give a meal. You can always get a box of those appetizers from Costco that have pigs in the blanket and other yummy things
