foam vs coil mattress
I saw that most girls are getting the colgate classica which is foam, but when I ordered my furniture from Bellini today they said they only carry the coil ones bc they are better and there have been some recalls on the foam?

Re: foam vs coil mattress
Baby Bargains said to go with foam due to the weight of the mattress, so that is what we did.

Re: foam vs coil mattress
This is the one that we got after a really helpful salesperson helped us at Buy, Buy Baby...
Regal I Crib Mattress by Colgate
This extra firm high quality innerspring crib mattress features a deluxe spring unit with 280 thick 15.5 gauge tempered steel coils, as well as thick 9.0 gauge steel border rods for extra edge support, firmness, and durability. A firm, flat non-allergenic foam covered with a natural cotton batting top layer add even more comfort and support on each side of the mattress. The extra high quality natural coir fiber insulator pad is made from coconut shell husks, which prevents 'coil feel' over time. The strong triple layer and reinforced and wetproof cover clean up easily with a damp cloth and mild soap. Brass vents ensure mattress freshness. Fits all standard cribs and toddler beds. Meets all federal and state safety standards including federal flammability standards 16CFR-1633, and 16CFR-1632. Measures 52" L x 27 3/4" W x 6" D. Made in the USA.

This is the exact mattress we're getting. The most important thing I heard when choosing a mattress is to get the firmest mattress possible. The sales person at Behr's showed me both the innerspring and the foam mattresses. To me, there wasn't a comparison. The foam mattress was hard as a rock! So that's the one we chose.

Re: foam vs coil mattress
We went with a coil mattress because I wanted organic and it is super, super heavy. It's really hard to lift up especially with the bars. If I had to do it again I would consider looking into foam options.
