Flying with breast milk

Anyone have experience? The TSA website says its treated like medicine, but I will be flying without my dd and not checking any luggage, so I don't want to get caught in the situation where I need to throw it out!

I flew to Florida for a few days earlier this year (no kids) and pumped my entire trip. On my way back home they scanned every milk storage bag separately. Give your self extra time for this if you are traveling with lots of BM. You do not have to open or taste your milk. The TSA wears gloves and places the milk one by one into a machine for testing.
Also, I would say not to freeze the milk, just refrigerate because you do not want your milk to defrost. I had a cooler bag with my milk and frozen ice packs keeping them cool.

I flew with about 120 ounces of breast milk in july and had no problems. I agree with pp abot not freezing it - keep it refrigerated and pack it with ice packs. I believe I had 3 cooler bags of milk & ice packs all put inside one larger tote bag that I used as my "personal item" when flying. when going though security I took one cooler bag out of the large tote an opened the zipper so they knew I had milk.
they took out each bag of milk that was in the cooler bag and put it in a machine for a few seconds each to test it - that was it. they never looked/checked the other cooler bags of milk (I honestly don't think they saw them), but def leave yourself enough time in case they decide to check all of your milk
