Fluid levels***with Updates

I had a scheduled OB appt this am and found out my levels went from an 8 to a 6.5!
Doc says she needs to see me 2x a week until they get back up and I can't help but worry I am only 28 weeks and do not want to go on hospital bedrest or even worse, have to deliver early. I really tried to drink more these past 2 weeks and this is what I get. I don't know what to do.

11/4 lost more fluid. Being sent to LIJ tonight.

11/5 got sent home last night and put on bedrest. I have to wait for a call from their high risk doctor and was told to look for signs of preterm labor.

11/7/11 Fluids went up a tiny bit but not enough. Doc put me on modified bedrest for the rest of my pregnancy I should be happy, but I cant believe I cant work anymore.

Drink tons of water, that always helped to raise my fluid levels!

try try try to drink a gallon of water a day. I know its terrible but it really helps with the fluid levels

Oh honey, try to drink as much water as possible. Tons of 'ers that your fluids come back up. Please keep us posted.

Im trying to stay positive. Doc wants to see me again on Friday. I suspect she may want me on bedrest eventually...
I'm going to monitor my meals and drink more fluids (gatorade, powerade, water, etc.)
Ill b sure to keep you posted.

ETA: I had myself a cry a few hours ago and would u believe it, baby started moving around a lot as if to reassure me

I am so glad to hear that they sent you home. Now relax and continue to drink tons of fluids. Many prayers and thoughts that the baby stays put for another couple of weeks.

i was admitted at 32w for pre-eclampsia. they did a bunch of sonos for fluid and bloodflow. my fluid was low - i think around a 7 and they dont like to see it below 6. although they said the bloodflow to the placenta was good, the baby measured about 2w behind. i was kept on hospital bedrest until i delivered. i was also told that what i drank or didnt drink had absolutely nothing to do with fluid levels. i ended up delivering 5 days later due to HELLP and severe pre-eclampsia.

did they give you a reason why your fluid levels are low?

they told me the same thing about baby and his fluids. its basically up to him to maintain. my discharge sheet says to drink plenty of water though.
Im waiting on callback from a doctor. my fluids are def below 6.
they dont know why my fluid is so low. Im not leaking from what the doc can tell.

I had low fluids from 30 weeks forward. They were at 11 and then 7 and then 6. I was put on modified bedrest and drank a lot. Baby was also measuring very small, diagnosed with IUGR, growth restriction. But baby was getting good blood flow so the waited until lungs were developed to deliver. At 37.4 weeks my fluids went down further, i think like 4 and i had a c-section that day. They predicted DD would be about 4 lbs and possibly in NICU to get checked out. She was actually 5.6 and spent no time in NICU. Hang in there! :huggy

BTW- dd TRIPLED her weight by 6 months!

Im home and told to "rest" which is something I'm not good at. I don't like to rely on other people for anything and I can't stop thinking about work.

I had to go to the hospital yesterday to see the high risk doctor who checked my levels and said I'm at about 5.
She thinks I will be able to go full term but wants me monitored twice a week by a high risk doctor.

I have so many questions for my OB! I have not heard from her all weekend. I feel like I've been passed on to so many other doctors that I've never met.

BTW a couple of nurses at LIJ told me the new maternity bldg (Katz Center) is "supposed" to be open on 1/2, another one said 1/15.

Hi wendy. Well that's good news from the higj risk doc. This week I am on bed rest bc of placenta previa bleeding and I hate being forced to to nothing. If u get bored fm me. I aint going nowhere lol xoox gl!
