flu at or past 25 weeks?
Has anyone gotten the flu at or past 25 weeks?
I have the flu. It started saturday with a headache and then just a run down feeling. I had a low grade fever of 99.1 so I just took tylenol and went to bed. I woke up sunday and felt better but by sunday night I felt worse. I had the chills and was running a 101.4 fever. I called the doctor and he didn't seem too concerned. He told me to continue the tylenol and called in a z-pack. Today the fever has ranged from 98-101 and my cough has gotten worse.
I just really hope this is gone by tomorrow. I dont want to miss anymore work but im worried the affect of the fever on the baby.

Were you diagnosed with the flu? It seems like maybe the doctor thinks you have something else bc the flu is a virus and would not be treated with the the Z-pack?
If you do have the flu virus it's unlikely that you'll feel a ton better by tomorrow. I had it once years ago and I was out for the count for over a week. I had high fevers over 104 and was totally out of it. I did take tamiflu, but it caused some adverse reactions.
Just rest and take it easy.
ETA: Did you talk to your OB or your GP?

I did speak to my ob. He also thinks its viral and the flu but gave me the zpack as a precaution.

As long as you keep your fever down, you should be ok and the baby should be fine. I know you say it's ranging, but if you can keep it below 100 I've read that's better. I'm surprised your doctor isn't more concerned, but he does know best. The tylenol will definitely help with that.
Keep super hydrated to help your body have the best chance to fight whatever has you so ill, and keep in touch with your doctor's office during the day to let them know how you're doing from day to day so they can change your course of action depending on how you're doing.
I had a fever back around that time in my pregnancy but it only lasted one morning (I had a horrible sore throat, but it wasn't the flu or anything). I've heard of people being admitted to the hospital for fluids if they have a fever that lasts for too long.
Take care of yourself!!! Hope you feel better asap!
ETA: I wouldn't run right back to work. It's really important you take care of yourself.

Ugh I'm sorry, as long as he isn't concerned I wouldn't be either. The only thing that helped the one time I got the flu was lots of rest and liquids. Feel better!!
