flex spending for daycare
any one using flex spending to pay for someone to watch your LO that is not a day care center? just wondering how this works? from what i can tell from DH's benefit package you can use the flex spending to pay friends and family to watch your LO but just wondering if anyone has or will be doing it and the logistics of it.

You can, but they need to be registered with the state and pay taxes on what they are making.
I wanted to do this with someone, but only for part time daycare, and she said it wasn't worth it for her to report the amount I'd be paying on her taxes, so she wouldn't sign the forms for me.
They just need to have a tax ID, otherwise it won't work. If its an "off the books" arrangement, forget it!
