Flat irons - which do you use?
I'm in need of a new flat iron. I have thick wavy (not curly) hair and I have to straightenen it or it gets frizzy.
Can you share what product you use and what flat iron (brand and model if you know) use?
Does anyone know if the thicker or thinner one's are easier/better for thick hair? I have a thick one now and it's kinda heavy and bulky, but I wonder if the thinner one's will take longer.
Thanks!!!

I have had the Chi Nano for about 2 years now and I LOVE it because it is like antibacterial and nothing sticks to it. It never gets "gooky."

Re: Flat irons - which do you use?
I have VERY thick hair and use the chi nano 1". I had the regular chi before this one, I wouldn't use anything else at this point, I love the chi flat iron. It works SO well. First I quickly blow out my hair so it is dry and semi-straight, and then iron it. The whole process takes about 20-30min.
I also use frizz-ease products - the serum and something called "straight fixation," which has heat protection stuff in it.

I have the TurboIon Croc Titanium 1.5-inch. It heats up in seconds and has a digital temperature display. I've had many flat irons over the years and this is the best one I've used.

Is there a difference between the CHI original and Nano? These are pretty pricey!! Overstock has some under $100.

HAI Elite 2" Tourmaline pad
I LOVE it! Heats in seconds and it is so smooth and supposed to do less damage to your hair because it doesn't take the moisture out.

Re: Flat irons - which do you use?
I use the GHD pink flat iron. I believe the model is IV.
It's great..... heats up REALLY fast!! I turn it on and 15 seconds later it beeps to tell me it's ready. My hair has remained healthy from it, considering no flat iron is actually good for your hair It's expensive, I believe it was $250, but I got it from Sephora's Friends and Family sale. Incidentally, they are having another one starting October 19th. You could order it online with the code for 20% off
I also use Enjoy Shine and Smooth serum to protect from the heat. (you can't get that at Sephora)
I have used Chi in the past which was GREAT, though personally I prefer my GHD (probably because my CHI is finally failing on me- though I have had it for 6 years now)
Good luck!!
ETA: and to answer your question about size, personally I prefer the smaller irons. Mine is 1''. I find they're easier to work with than the thicker ones, even though I do have long hair.

The nano has antibacterial properties, so the goop doesn't build up on it like the orignial. I also think it makes my hair feel smoother. I bought it at ULTA with a 20% off coupon I printed out online. I think I used retailmenot.com.
