First time your LO slept away from you and DH?
When was the first time you had your LO sleep away from you and DH? How many nights did LO sleep away? And was LO sleeping through the night at the time (and if not, was it too much for whoever watched them)?

DD is 2 and has never slept away from us. Not because I would have an issue with it, but because we have no one for her to stay with. I would gladly take a night out and the chance to sleep in!

We went away when my DS was 3.5 years. We were gone for 2 nights. My ILs watched him at our house.

Re: First time your LO slept away from you and DH?
dd slept at my mothers house for the first time when she was about 7 weeks old. We had a good friend's wedding to attend so my mom watched her. It was just one night, and she was not sleeping through the night. After that, DH and I started taking an annual week long vacation when dd was about 2 and ds was 1.

Re: First time your LO slept away from you and DH?
About 2 months old for a night when we had a wedding and 3 months old DH threw me a party at our house. My parents live around the block. My kids usually sleep out one night a month or every couple of months at my parent's or in'laws. They are 8 and 6 now.

She was probably around 3 and my parents stayed at our house so we could go away for one night for our anniversary. I never went anywhere any sooner because she was a HORRIBLE newborn and never slept and I wouldn't do that to my parents.

Re: First time your LO slept away from you and DH?
About 4 months old- she stayed with my ILs. I didn't really WANT her to stay overnight, but it worked out that way. I might've cried the whole way home after dropping her off. She was mostly sleeping through the night at that point, though I believe she woke up once. She's only stayed over my ILs or my parents without me or DH maybe 4 times.
ETA: DD was an extremely easy baby, she started STTN right when I went back to work at 2 months. There was maybe a 2 month regression around 7 months, but otherwise, she always slept straight through and went to bed at 8 like clockwork.

10 weeks. My husband and I were both in our good friends wedding. It was awful leaving my babies. I wish I would have just left the wedding after the ceremony. They are almost a year and haven’t slept away since

I was going to post the same exact thing! Dd has been at my mom's since Christmas. We live about 2 hrs away. She turned 1 in Nov. She has done 2 day sleep overs 2 or 3 times previous to this.

My DS was almost 3 1/2 when we went away for the first time. We went away for 3 nights and my parents stayed at my house.
ETA.. and to answer your other question, yes he was sleeping through the night, so no it wasn’t too much for my parents, though my DS happens to be a pretty chill kid and we only have one at the moment.

Re: First time your LO slept away from you and DH?
4 months, I would work long hours and even though not fully overnight, midnight would happen (and kids were awake all day without seeing me and then asleep). I knew... so all kids go down for the night methodically.i never knew how hard this must have been.
Only time I did it for “fun”, kids were 3.5 and 5. It wasn’t bad... but it was with our babysitter of 2 years. She was the best.

about 10 or 11 months old. She wasn't a good newborn and had bad reflux/milk allergy. She threw up a lot and would often projectile in the crib. I always worried about other people having to deal with that, so I didn't feel comfortable doing an overnight until then. She did great the first time, and then a month or so after that we went away for one night and she kept my mom up all night long/threw up everywhere. I have never had anyone besides my parents watch overnight, though. They have a crib at their house and they babysit once a week there. She is used to their crib and is generally very good for them.

My son at age 4 stayed with my parents for 2 nights. My daughter hasn't and I don't anticipate her going or us leaving her anytime soon. She is 2.5

Re: First time your LO slept away from you and DH?
At 3 months old, my DS slept at my in-laws for 2 nights straight. I'm a tax accountant and had to work very late the days leading up to Oct 15th. He was get up at midnight and 4am to feed at that point. It wasn't too much for my MIL because she said she's up at that time anyway. She doesn't sleep much

Re: First time your LO slept away from you and DH?
We had a wedding in NJ when my twins were around 8 months, they were not yet sleeping through the night but it was ok because both of my parents are very hands on. I would not have done that to someone who would be trying to juggle two by themselves, I had/have a tough time sometimes and I am alone a few times a week.

Re: First time your LO slept away from you and DH?
DD was only about 2 months old when she slept at Grandma's for the first time because DH and I caught a horrible stomach virus and neither of us were in any shape to get up off the bathroom floor, let alone take care of a tiny human She was not sleeping through the night yet - she woke up once in the middle of the night for a bottle. MIL handled it like a pro though!
Then again at around 11 months she slept at Grandma's while we went to a wedding overnight. By that point she had been sleeping through the night for a long time. She goes to bed at 6:45 and sleeps through until 7:30am.
In March DH and I are planning to go down to Naples for a few days and DD will stay with Grandma again...she'll be 17 months. She's a really easy baby and sleeps really well so it's honestly no trouble for other people to watch her.

DS stayed with my parents for one night when he was a couple of months old. I can't remember why he slept there but I know if he wasn't sleeping through the night I would not have had him stay there. I would have felt terrible if they had to wake up constantly.
