First Sono

Ok ladies, I know I posted this the other day on the pregnancy board, but only got 1 response. I got a BFP and go for my first sono on Thursday. We went thru IVF, so I'm wondering what exactly they will be able to see on this sono. Will they be able to tell me if it's twins? HELP, I'm nervous and also so excited!!!

I am 5 weeks preggers!

Re: First Sono

If it's twins, they should be able to see 2 sacs. At 5 weeks, you'll see just a sac and maybe fetal pole- but not always.

Re: First Sono

I got my first sono at about 6 weeks and 2 days and saw the two sacs and heartbeats were measured. BFP w/ twins- I did IUI. My RE knew I was preg w/ twins b/c of my high beta levels.

If you don't mind my asking, how high should your beta be to indicate twins? TIA

Re: First Sono

I would have blood taken in the morning and a nurse would call me in the late afternoon the same day w/ the results. I really believe the nurse's can't hint at anything, every call the nurse would just report that "everything looks great".
Exactly two weeks after IUI , my Beta was 218. The week after that ( week #5 Beta was 3,000) Week #6, Beta was 33,131 and week #7 was 80,000. At my appointment w/ RE - week #7 my RE did think twins b/c of my blood levels. It was week #7 that we saw the two sacs and was told the heartbeats are strong and everything looks great. I go to my RE this morning to get another sono to see how my progress is going, I am exactly week #9.
Good Luck.

Twins!

Here's a link that I was stalking to help me figure out if it was twins before my sono:
