Re: First OB appt tomorrow....
every doc is different...mine went over the entire pregnancy schedule (how often we'll be having appointments, what to expect from testing, WHEN they will be testing me)... She had questions for Dave regarding his family history and me for mine...
I also had questions and she also did a pap and an u/s...

maybe it felt like 20 minutes bc DH was there? Yeah, they did take lots of blood, the sono, checked everyhting, nurse asked me questions. then the dr asked another zillion questions, then i asked him questions, so maybe it was like 45 minutes? jeez where is my head?
eta: he aslo told me the scheudle of appts, when and for what the testing will be done. hmmmmmmmmm

i had my blood done at the RE as well...(we didn't have any procedures, got the BFP before we started treatments)...but they found that the RE didn't test me for an awful lot of things.... They took 8 or 9 vials from me. that was the quickest part honestly, it was 5 minutes for all that blood...

i have to go to a lab this time - the maternal doc wants something tested and i'm headed to a lab tomorrow to have it done.....
if i were at my OB though - it would be done in office. It all depends on your insurance.

Re: First OB appt tomorrow....
My ob sent me to a lab to have all my blood redone from the RE office. The RE didn't test for somethings my ob wanted to test for. They took 6 vials of blood and did a ton of tests. My appt was about 45mins. My 2nd ob appt was long after they got my blood work back is when they asked about family history. And at my 1st ob appt I didn't have a sono. I think because my RE did one 4 days before my ob appt I did go a week later for one tho.

for me this long appointment, where they go over all the history was like my 2nd or 3rd appointment and it was with the nurse
my first appointment was quick last pregnancy, lots of blood, do's and dont's, etc
but like Jess said, every doctor is different
