First birthday MIL vent...
Ugh... that's all I can say right now is Ugh...
We are having DS first birthday party next Saturday at our house. Turns out that pretty much everyone we invited is coming which means we will have close to 50 people at our house.
Mind you, the house is a nice size, but if it rains, 50 people will not comfortably fit in our house.
MIL is giving DH a hard time because she wants us to invite some of her friends to the party. I am sitting here listening to DH try and tell her nicely that we aren't going to invite her friends because there were family members who were not invited.
Since when does she have the right to decide who gets invited to DS birthday party? Just so frustrating because she will not quit. This is the second time she has brought this up. Ugh.

The same thing happens with my MIL at every party we ever had. Esp his 1st birthday. We had it at White Post farms & she still wanted her friends there. They did not belong at all plus we couldnt afford to have them. PLUS...neither DH or myself had any of our friends there. She was relentless & kept asking us every time she saw us. I just bit my tongue & politely told her "your friends are not invited because we only invited family." UGh I feel your pain

Eh, tell her to suck it up!! At least your DH is telling her! Did it work?
If she wants her friends to come to a party, tell her to throw one herself at her house. She can invite anybody she wants.

Oh no... someone needs to explain to her that this party is for LUCAS... not her and her friends!
It just stinks because she has a habit of pouting and getting over emotional about things in the hopes that she will get her way.
But DH stood his ground and made it clear that she was not invited!
