First Bday Photo Shoot (Boy)

Looking for outfit and 'theme' ideas - if you have a pic you'd like to share I'd love to see! Also, did you get DS a haircut before the shoot? DS's hair is wild and crazy so I'm thinking of cutting it but I'm having trouble coming to grips with cutting his baby locks already!!

I just went with a red, blue and brown plaid shirt and then the photographer had balloons to match. I also did a cake smash with the same color themes. I cut my sons hair at like 9 months bc it was crazy too so I got his hair cut right before the pics.!

We are doing a vintage baseball theme (think Sandlot). I ordered Ds jeans with patches and suspenders from H&M, and I baseball raglan tee shirt from Etsy which will be personalized and have a matching baseball hat. I'm not cutting his hair, but it's not too long or unruly.

I also got him a blue plaid button down. While I think themed shoots are adorable, I'd rather not hang a themed photo in my living room, so he will where the button down for a few nice shots as well.

We are doing navy & green...no real theme...we cut his hair at 8 months and then again at 10 months since it was getting crazy.

For the cake smash its the jeans with the tie...and for the portrait its the jeans and the shirt...I am not a big fan of the diaper covers.

We did a Mickey Mouse theme. We got his hair cut for the first time at 10 months old. We got it trimmed again right before the pictures.

The last few i did were, mustache theme, mickey mouse/fdny theme, polkadot/carnival theme, pumpkin theme.

i have one coming thats doing a blue, green, orange chevron.

You dont have to do a theme, if theres something hes into thats cool, but if not just pick a few colors and go with that

WE didn't do an official photoshoot, but I put DS in adorable overall shorts with a blue elephant on them (Janie & Jack has ADORABLE baby boy clothes). I like "baby" clothes for young boys & girls!

Our cutest pics has his long baby hair (brushed but not cut yet) and him sucking his fingers, holding a gigantic monkey stuffed animal (that no longer seems so big).

ETA: yes we ended up getting DS hair cut right before his pics. He didn't have to much hair anyway to cut his xmas pics were a month before and his hair wasn't cut for those
